Ive got a vance and hines ignition stator Im selling.  Its off a 91 gs500 engine that I put in my bike, but it wont work with my electrical so I'm selling it.  Lookin to get $50.  

Why didn't this work?  Will it work on my 89?

yep it should but the rotor is vance and hines, the stator is the regular stock

I'm surprised the rotor didn't sell yet. 

That was my old V&H rotor.  A five minute bolt on that in my case gave a very noticable difference in midrange torque, better throttle response, and even a better idle.  Plus they're almost unobtainable.

The V&H rotor doesn't work on the '01+ GS right? I have an '06. If it does work, I'll buy it. If not, good luck with the sale!

yep 04 and lower im pretty sure, thats why im sellin it wasnt compatible with my bike
