stalls in on position. help.

Ok. Rejetted as below. D&D can on. Lunchbox installed. 2 washers, 0 turns on air screw. Runs and drives fine, but only on prime setting, which I'm sure riding on cant be good. When petcock switched to ON position I get about half a mile before it starts to feel like it's starving and starts to sputter. Can switch back to prime and it runs fine again. Thoughts? Anyone? All hoses routed correctly. No kinks or crimps. Idle adjusted to ~1500. Could this be due to lean conditions and my lack of air screw adjustment? If so, how many turns are recommended?

Try 3 turns out on mixture,since prime is the only pos` that works without vacuum surely vacuum pipe not connected properly?

It will not hurt your bike at all to run on 'prime',it just means that the automatic (vacuum operated) fuel tap is by-passed, so you should turn it back to 'on' whenever the bike is stopped.
Either you have a restriction (pinched or dirt) in a fuel line or a blocked in-tank strainer, or your vacuum hose is not connected properly or has a leak. If the vacuum hose is leaking, this can also affect the idle mixture.
