For a few months now i have been planning to fix up my GS a bit and sell it as it hasn't run well or reliably since my accident last may.  And i think the mechanics who worked on  my bike actually screwed me over.  So having pretty much given up on the bike (as i really have no skill at repairs or trust in mechanics).  Anyhow over the weekend a buddy of mine took me to  a guy he knows who fixes bikes.  The guy looked over my bike and told me he could hook it up real nice...make it run better than before and wouldn't rip me off.  Her didn't think i needed to get a new bike when i had "a sweet little one" to work with.  I kinda appreciated that...so i'm keeping my 2002 GS.

Now here's the deal...and where i need input.  I will get all the parts but i need advice on how much i should be spending.  So here's my wishlist:

Vance Hines full system.

Progressive Shocks

Stage 1 Jet kit

Set of new tires (i commute to work from Queens into Manhattan so something appropriate for 9 or 10 months outta the year) i was thinking BT45's of course though the Mech suggested Pirelli's.

I wanted an ignition advancer but we all know the story with those...and the mech told me that if i wasn't running the RPM's high alot then an advancer really wouldn't make much difference.  In any case he said he could fabricate one if i really wanted but said it might not be worth the trouble.

Mirrors....something sleek but functional.  Something that shows me more than my shoulders.

Ok...i think thats everything....now...how much sshould i pay for these things or better yet...what should i not pay more than a certain amount for...???

C'mon you Guru's....i'm open to any and all advice.

My ear's to the monitor....

Thanx in advance...!!!!!   :thumb:    :thumb:

Ya know, Juggernaught, Dennis Kirk and Chapparal each put out an extensive m/c oriented catalog where you find prices & availability of the items you desire.  They are online and would be happy to mail you a catalog.

Or, you can shop online at sites like http://www.accwhse.com/

where they list Pirelli Sport Demons at these sizes & prices:

$85.95 Pirelli Sport Demon 110/70HB17 Front Tire

$94.95 Pirelli Sport Demon 130/70HB17 Rear Tire

Kinda spendy, but they may worth the money.

V&H and K&N are NOT worth the money.  Wouldn't have them if they were free.  Too many decibels for two little horsepower.

Stage 1 jet kit is worthwhile.

Progressive Springs are money well spent.

Do your suspension mods, get good tires, maybe add lower handlebars and go sign up for a day of riding instruction.
Current bikes:
1993 Honda NSR 250 SP
1994 Suzuki RGV 250 RR SP
1993 Yamaha Seca II

The Buddha

Get a Slip on off ebay from a sport bike and fit on stock headers and make your own jet kit, use the air box and paper filter, cos its quite reuseable. The jetting is a must where you have the possibility of cold weather. Of course Suspension and tires.
Cool.

EXSVrider

I currently have a bid on ebay for a V&H carbon fiber exhaust for a buell - $99 bucks, I'm pretty sure I can make it work - and right now there's LOTS of them on ebay.
