Ok, as mentioned I put some new bars on because the others were "bent"  I did set the new bars on a flat surface when I got them.  Not sure if I did it after I cut them off which required clamping in a chop saw.  I don't think I was in a spot to bend them out of whack with the clamp.

The left grip seems farther away than the right.  Is there a possibility to create this with clamp torquing sequence?  I think I did a criss cross out of habit for lugs and head bolts.  When I look down on them my fork tubes seem a bit off with the amount of the radius you see under the bar.  This bike has been down before and I wonder if

a.  something in the triple is bent
b.  clamp order did it
c.  I was used to riding with bent bars and it just feels weird
d.  I really did have a stroke and my judgement of distance is off.

Anyone been through this one?

Your on the trail of thought.Its not uncommon if you drop the bike the yokes can twist on the forks.Get the front wheel off the ground slacken triple pinchbolts/lower yoke, grip front wheel with knees if necc` and twist back.

 think you were used to the bars being bent. Now, correct bars seems weird because your body as adjusted to the bent bars.
I had the same feeling for a week or two after my bike fell over. Concluded the right bar got bent about 1/2"based on the slight difference in what feels like the "riding straight" arm position. Now I don't notice it. Only 1/2" so not worth fixing and you have to measure to really know that's what happened. If I look close and I can see something is different between the left and right side.

A slight twist in the tripple can happen too. Follow firewalkers suggestions.

Or, drop your bile on the other side to straighten everything out LOL!

So I don't think you went insane. Its hard to accept being normal again.
