You sold the bike to buy a car? WTF?

Oh... got a kid on the way and want to be responsible?

No, that's not a reason.

Oh... new girlfriend doesn't like bikes?

Get a newer girlfriend.

Pay off debt?

But a car is the replacement. Nah. can't be that then.

Bought the bike for fifty bux, spent twenty on it doing it up and sold it for a net net net profit of $2,730?  :woohoo:

Ok. Making some moolalah Could be a reason.

But now you're gonna have to stick your head out the window like a dog to get that same experience.  :thumb:  :icon_mrgreen:

Im in colorado, and I'm a huge motor head. I'm 19, have owned

1996 Audi A6 Quattro (auto)
1998 Acura Integra GS (auto)
1996 Civic Hatch (5spd - track car)
1997 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro (5spd)
1987 BMW 325is

04 GSXR600
95 Ninja 250
91 GS500e

So that being said, I love motorcycle's but living in Colorado (CU Boulder student) and ONLY have the motorcycle as a form of transport BLOWS in the winter so I ended up getting the car, yes it is RWD, so not that much better but  O0. Plus I bought the bike + insurance + maintenance + registration for $1200, and sold it for $2000 and bought the car with that cash + paid for 6months of insurance  :woohoo:

found out how much crap(water) the front tire throws forward and up so it comes back at your face, when you have no front fender.

Gave Junior a brand new factory original belly pan I found for sale in Europe. Seems a guy bought an old Suzuki warehouse and is finding all kinds of old original GS500 parts. This was in the original box, too! Also added crash sliders. I don't intend to crash, but they look cool and impress the GSXR dudes. Anyway, you can't have crash bars and a belly pan because the belly pan gets in the way of engine bars.

Best thing I purchased for my bike were crash sliders. :thumb: Saved me a lot of money when I noobie panicked and dropped my bike.

Gave Suzi black levers - Bike-It brand. Problem is the slot for the clutch switch was not deep enough. I had to mill it out with the dremel to make it deep enough.
maybe their other colors are OK and the black got filled in with paint. Working now on putting on ASV levers. Suzi deserves the best.

Also got a brand new full fairing for my 1992 E model. Not cheap - from the UK but is is the original in the box. What a beautiful fairing! So rare! Was it ever sold in the USA?

Gave Junior new Gimbel rear sets (with herlp from centuryghost). See details at

Also gave him a new keyless fuel cap.

More tocome!

Well not necessarily today, but within the last week I converted back from clip-ons to risers and a drag bar. Also can't remember if I put it on here, but I put a new front tire on and new bearings all around.

Filled the tank, Added some fuel stabalizer, cleaned and lubed the chain, reinstalled the centerstand, and put the old girl away for the winter

I might drag her out if the weather gets nice, but its starting to get cold around here.

k.rollin

I finally finished the naked conversion of my '04 GS500F. I still need to wire up the indicators in the mirrors, but it's finally done. If my fairings don't sell, I might hack them up to make a belly pan.

JB848

I still think he washed it with "Mr Bubbles" or something

I took the F out for a 60 mile ride and filled the tank. Changed helmets and bikes and took the E out for the same ride she has a 3/4 tank left so I just wiped her down and covered her up.

mister

Put a new front tire on on Saturday and rode home. Sunday, went for a 300+km ride one third of which was wet - the first 3rd on the new unscrubbed-in tire.  :woohoo:

Ha ha....

As I had degreased my whole bike x2 weeks earlier then applied ACF 50 for hours on end, I was desperate to clean the bike but not degrease. So I got my snow foam attachment, [http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Images/2817-500-500/karcher-hd-foam-lance-kit.png] that I usually fill with a aggressive cleaner for the car, put some zip wax in instead, a mild mixture at that. I then sprayed, left, sponged the bodywork/seat/tank then rinsed and dried most of it :D

As for what I have done for my bike today, I captured on a cheap keyring cam, the highlights of my commute.
