Any idea why one moto would take much longer than another to charge?

Both started fully charged, then sat for a bit over a week.

My '09 Ninja 650 went from red to blinking green almost immediately, to solid green after 15 minutes.

Mrs.'s '09 GS500F took 50 minutes to go from red to blinking green, and another 45 minutes to get to solid green.

Different brands ? Different size?

Current drain while the GS is parked ?

How do you know it was fully charged. ?

I would be curious of the voltage reading prior and during charging.   My previous battery would only be good for one start (no so good when you stall in traffic).   It took over a day for the red light to go off when I charged it for storage.

I bought a new battery this year and 6 months of riding, then putting onto a trickle charger took less and 1 hour before the green light appeared.  The volt seems to regulate around 13volts, but during the initial charge it was going up to 13.7v before it turned off.

I would also guess that as a battery gets older, it's going to take longer to charge.
