Howdy! I am a 27 yr old male, living in Southern Illinois currently and just bought my first motorcycle. She is a 2005 Suzuki GS500F with 9xxx miles, new tires and a Yoshi exhaust. I rode her home and accidently laid her over at a stop sign. It bent the clutch a bit so I am looking for a replacement as well as a owners manual.

Hello GSrs,
I am a 54 year old child psychologist in my first year of riding.  Bought my '96 GS500E totally by chance, but am I glad I did.  I've only logged about 350 miles, but I can't wait to get back on.  We've had a few warmer days here in central Illinois so I de-winterized and fired her up.  Looking forward to some longer trips this spring.

Yep, that is a bummer. The first time I ever rode at night I was so excited I got lost...on a road I've driven a car down 100 times before. Eventually I pulled off on a side street, tried to make a U-turn and nearly dropped the bike. Thank goodness my ankle broke its fall...

Howdy. Just pulled mine out of the garage this weekend as well. Felt good to ride but am worried about all the melting snow and salt. I washed it today after work but can still hear it rusting in the garage as I type this.

Welcome to the group...looks like a nice bike, with just a few scratches...nothing serious...doesn't look like it has been tampered with at all, still has the full rear fender...  :thumb:

 Hello

I'm John... I live in California, so I ride my GS daily. I'm 38 and
I enjoy  meeting new people and exploring new places to eat – while
ridding of course. My goal is to gain enough confidence to take my
wife on a ride with me; so she can experience the freedom we all
feel while ridding our bikes.

Gidday, I have just joined GStwins a couple of days ago. I am 57 year old male and live in Melbourne, Australia. I have just returned to riding after a 35 year "break" and I bought my new GS500F 19 days ago. I have only had time for a couple of short rides, usually before dawn on a Sunday morning as it is about the only free time I can muster at the moment. As well as a lack of time, the weather down here has been very unpredictable. I don't feel ready to ride in the rain yet. The odo is only showing 220km.

Please forgive any mistakes that I make here as I am not familiar with using a forum. I don't really know what I am doing so any tips would be appreciated.

I'm Tim. I'm 38 and just purchased my first bike on Thrusday. It's a 2000 GS500 with just a few tics over 9000 miles on it. Here's a crappy picture of it:

I look forward to an awesome season of riding! :thumb:

Hi my name is Ricky and yesterday I bought a brand new 2009 GS500F.
I was going to buy a Kawasaki but Suzuki Corp. issued a coupon online to get
$1000 off from the retail price. So they bought me and I switched brands, now I'm
a Suzuki rider for life!!!
Is good to be here.

Hello everyone I'm Gene from Newark Valley NY and I bought my 04 gs500f about 2 weeks ago 6500 miles were on it when I bought it . I already went and got my permit and lisensed the bike for the road . I didn't realize that I would have to do it again next month , oh well . So even though it's only been a high of 20 to 30 degrees I still get out there when the roads aren't to bad . I am 34 years old Married and have two kids both girls and I'm a auto mechanic . And I can't wait for spring . But anyway heres some pictures of my bike .

Sorry if these pictures are to big I'm not sure how to resize them yet .
Spring is here yea

It should provide you with years of enjoyment, or at a minimum, provide you with a great, friendly bike to learn the skills on without scaring the crap out of yourself...

hey all, name's ryan. i'm 23yr from Radford, VA and i work as an architectural draftsman. just picked up a 04 gs500f last week for my first bike. she's completely stock with about 16xxx miles, its quite a few miles but i got it for a pretty good price. ridden mountain/road bikes all my life but never anything with a motor, so i made the decision to start off with something cheaper(bike price and insurance) than a 600. man am i glad i did! been 3-4 days on the bike and i'm in love. a few more weeks of riding and i'm going back to the dmv to try and get my actual license rather than riding dirty with just a learners haha. anyone know what all you have to do from DMV's road skills test?

stoked i stumbled onto this site! will post photos in the next couple days

Welcome to the site...I would check out YouTube for some heads up on the riding test (Captain Crash Idaho is pretty good - his video's are done with a bit of humour), but check out riding schools as well...it's always a good idea to take a basic riding course...they usually cover all the things on the test to help you pass, and some are the test...pass the course and get your license...depends on what the DMV rules are in your area.

Good Luck!!
