Trey got a replacement front master brake cylinder, ASV lever and stainless steel brake line.
Trey's parts were donated to one of out fellow Seattle riders.
Got to try out my new brake bleeder pump thing. Works really nice.

Pulled the two inch long piece of what appeared to be fencing wire from my back tire and plugged yet another puncher. That back is copping a beating with punchers, soon it will be more plugs then tyre.
Who'd you p*ss off? lol

Its all been really random stuff, a small sliver of glass (like headlight), a very rusty screw, this, so I'm thinking its not someone I pissed off as there is so far to much variety. Besides the bike is either on a RAAF base or behind a fence with a protective dog sleeping with it. I park next to the hot water heater and the dog sleeps with the hot water heater.

CAn I suggest you buying the missus a bunch of flowers?  :icon_mrgreen:

Just freshened the fluid and installed an 09 GSX-R 600 front end on my GS race bike. Pictures to come. :)

I put my Nelson Riggs sport touring saddle bags on. They fit, nicely, under the seat and even have outside water bottle holders. Went shopping!
Then, I got one of those small round stick on clocks (Fleet Farm $2) and put it between the speedo & tach. Looks like it belongs there! Awesome!   :thumb:

Topped off the gas.  Washed it up.  Patiently waiting for my parts to get here so I can get back to riding

Just discovered pretty bad rust and gunk in my tank.  HATING the idea of cleaning it out.

Tried Evapo-rust and it did absolutely NOTHING.

Next, Vinegar? If that doesn't work...

After that, Muriatic Acid and POR-15?

madjak30

Checked the tire pressure and inflated the front tire to 35psi...then I took it out for the first ride of the season...man, do I miss riding... :thumb:

It was cold and lots of sand on the streets, some snow and ice still...but I went for a 40min ride to "blow the cobwebs out"...smiled for 40mins straight...actually longer, I'm still smilin'... :woohoo:

Later.

I added an extension to my windscreen. found a guy on craigslist selling the windscreen off a Buell Ulysses for $5.
brought it home drilled 4 holes in my gs500f's screen and bolted it on.

went for a ride and its definitely better when cruising on the freeway, but i have to sorta sit up straighter if i want air to flow through my helmet. lol

you can see some of the other mods i've made. such as
velcro on the bottom the windscreen great place to stick gps navigation and cellphone (put the rough part on the bike, the soft felt on the back of phone and navi)

grip warmers (switch on left)

accessories switch (w/led) on right to turn on and off the accessories.

under the seat i also have a cig outlet hooked up to a relay so that it turns on and off with the bike.

mister

Washed the bike two days running... okay okay, I really got caught in torrential downpours on the way home, soaked right through, but the bike is cleaner. Second soaking I lubed the chain  :thumb:

So how exactly did you do that? I've been wanting to do this too. I already have the cigarette lighter and everything hooked up, I just want it to turn off with the bike.

Trey got new front brake MS and ASV lever, SS brake line and........
.......he went purple!

Cosimo_Zaretti

Did you repaint it, or just find a tank and covers from a purple bike.  If you did paint it, where did you get the decals from?

mike__R

I got my gauges remounted with a new (used) metal bracket and new (new) black plastic bucket set - now the thing is about ready for paint prep.  That is going to take a while.  Then I have to wait till it gets warm enough for me to paint in my garage, which might be a few weeks away.

I got my new bracket and seat mounted.

Either the 2006 and 2007 seats are different...or one of the two is aftermarket.  'Cause there's a HUGE difference in feel between them.  :dunno_black:
