put on some Avon Road Riders....stock sizes.   Nice improvement over my 5 year old tires. Even scrubing them in the rain, they were better!   :thumb:

I took of my old bars....

And replaced them with the black bikemaster supersport bars.

I like the feel a lot by just sitting on it. I have yet to ride it as the headlight is still not on yet.
First bike - 2002 GS500E - Sold
Current - 2012 Triumph Street Triple R

After a week of travelling in rubbish weather, with some rough roads and even a few sections of gravel, my chain was pretty scummy.  I stopped putting it off and gave it the kerosine and toothbrush treatment.  I can't believe the amount of dirt I managed to get out of a fairly new chain, you'd think it'd been used as a tank track.

Looked at it's rear brake, because it felt like it was bent. Turns out it is. About 1mm on one side. I'm pretty sure I know how I did it too, left the stupid disk lock on it. Oh well, might have to get a new disk.

Also bought Australia Road Riders 2011 Bike Guide, only 2 more days until I'm off restrictions. So far my short list for a new bike is GSR750, Z1000, CB1000R, Ninja 1000, etc. Love my GS500, but want something with better suspension and brakes (power is nice too).

Jesus..you quoted some real widow makers there. Be careful going from a 500 twin to a I4 litre bike. Let us know if you get to ride the GSR750. Would be interested to see how they are. Good luck

They don't come out until some time in May, but as soon as one is in the dealership I'm jumping on it. Should be fun going froma GS500 to the bikes I'm looking at. Biggest jump I know of is GS500 to a Kawasaki ZX-14.

Riding the GS500 is fun, plus the look on guys faces in group rides when I can keep up is great, but I want something with better suspension and brakes. that normally comes with the engine to justify it.

Yeh true. I recently got a stable mate for my GS. A Ducati Monster 1000. It is a nice step up but I still love riding my lil GS.

I replaced old brake pads to sitered EBC pads in front. It was harder than I thought, it took me a while to figure out how to press the pistons so that the brake rotor fits between the pads. But finally i got it and front brake feels much better now.

I also bought organic brake pads for rear brakes and new dark visor for my helmet.

put the old pad in there (one of them) and c-clamp the shizz. can't do that for the rear since its an opposed piston, so i used channel locks with the old pads.  iono if its the right way but it works and that's what i learned from car forums

I used pipe wrench to push it and got the caliber in place right away.

I installed an LED bulb for my front parking light. Its brighter and draws less current.

These are the bulbs I bought. $14 for a pair on ebay. http://www.hid-lights.com/products/led/194/GP-194-SMD-25W.html

Finally got around to adding approx 2" to the kickstand. The previous owner had done the SV650 shock swap and the GS leaned like crazy on the kickstand. It was capable of staying up but it leaned so much that I was always nervous of it falling. Now I have it sitting nice!! :)

You can order them from the site I linked under my picture. From this page, specifically. I bought mine on Ebay but I don't like linking to Ebay auctions because the link is broken after a few months.

Wow thats pretty cheap and quite a good idea, i was thinking of going for a HID replacement for $59 on ebay free delivery, how would this compare to brightness? Wondering if it's worth the extra necessary hassle wiring the ballast etc..
