After finding out earlier today that the o-rings I found in my front sprocket case were from my chain, I was advised i should be getting a new chain to prevent killing myself by wrapping a chain around my axle. The timing is actually perfect since I have a 45T rear sprocket on order.

The calculator linked on the GS Wiki is saying a 113 Link chain is required for the 16T/45T setup I am trying to run.

I need help understanding how to decide on the correct chain length, this is the chain i am looking at.

So with this chain do I order a 112 link and add the "clip connecting link" to make 113? or should I buy a 114 with a "clip connecting link?" Thanks!

You can always make a chain shorter........you can't make it longer. Get the 114.

Or for a little more money you can get the 120 and cut it down to whatever link you need.

Have you learned the lessons only of those who admired you, and were tender with you, and stood aside for you? Have you not learned great lessons from those who braced themselves against you, and disputed passage with you?

Use only even link lengths of chain, there's no need for messing with offset links.  For 16/45T sprockets I'd use a 114 link chain which will move the axle about 1/4" ahead of the stock 16/39/110 location, there's enough slot in the swingarm for that.  If you use 112 links it will move the axle about 3/8" back from stock and you'll run out of adjusting slot before the new chain is used up.
