This is the infamous Cowl Tech Cowl as seen here: http://www.cowltech.com/

They manage to get $185 shipped for this thing.

These cowls are actually well made if you can get your hands on one. However, I never came up with a good way to mount the darn thing. I was thinking about drilling a couple holes in it and bolting it where the grab bar normally attaches.

Comes painted as seen in the picture below. I added plastic trim along the edge of the cowl to help protect the bike from the rough cut edges (looks nice too).

Not in a hurry to sell this. Would be good to stop people from asking for rides or just to sexify your bike. Send me your reasonable offers.

I also have a GSF seat that is cut off right behind where the cowl attaches. This presents an additional mountain option where you could bolt the cowl to the seat and then be able to remove the cowl with the seat, thus offering a large amount of storage in the normal under seat area + under the cowl.

I like the way this cowl looks so much that I made this photo my avatar!

to the new owner- i've been working on getting my cowl tech passenger seat cover mounted. i never liked the idea of the cowl being held on by those flimsy metal tabs they supplied.. so i decided to drill holes and mount with nuts and bolts

this is what i've done to get it fitted properly on bike;
instead of cutting the seat completely off where the cowl starts(and introducing mounting issues.) i've removed most all foam from the start of cowl back. found spots for good mounting points(2 on each side) and drill my holes. i then trimmed a bit of the actual seat plastic off after the mounting hole closest to the rear. this gave me a nice flat fit and will also allow me to swap the entire seat and cowl for my spare stock seat

here's a quick photo of when i pulled the gs deep inside the basement and was working with the cowl. photo taken right after i drilled the holes, so its still far from finished:
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!
