Hey guys,

If and when I find a bike, because I have no access to a garage, I will have to leave it outside in the parking lot.  I live in a good neighborhood so I am not worried about it getting stolen.  However, I would like something to cover it up just in case it rains.  Can anyone recommend some different bike covers?  I certainly do not want to spend that much money but I am interested in what is out there.  Thanks to anyone who can lead me in the right direction.

Might sound cheap but a big "grill" cover worked for me for awhile.

$12,

The only problem is that it doesn't breathe like the expensive bike covers do.  (kept my bike dry down here in Florida   )

Edit to add:
Now I just leave it open.  Its been 1.5yrs sitting during some aweful downpours, and I just walk out and crank her up with out any problems.

LIFE should NOT be a journey to the GRAVE with the intention of arriving SAFELY in an attractive and well PRESERVED body, but rather to SKID in sideways, CIGAR in one hand, favorite beverage in the other, body thoroughly USED UP, totally WORN OUT, and screaming WOW - WHAT A RIDE!

Thanks for the responses.  I will look at those this weekend.

I bought a Nelson-Riggs Defender 2000 for mine. About $70 but worth it...has all the features you want to protect the bike-breathable, heat protection (protects cover from exhaust so you can throw it on immediately after ride), etc. Size Med works on the GS500.

the cover i have looks like the dowco cover off the top of the link already posted.  not sure if it's the same one though.  mine has heat pannels so you can throw it on over a hot engine, and a breather slot.  those are the two main things you want to go for.

I bought a Dowco cover awhile ago.  I think the smallest one they make is fine.  It fits pretty well.  I used to use it alot but now I just squeeze the bike between cars in my garage.  It's a tight fit sometimes with 2 cars and 2 motorcycles but I'd rathe not put that cover on everytime.

ASLAM.
