i did the peg mod that is in the WIKI. I used the same pegs from ebay. my question is this. with the new pegs my foot hits the center stand, so much that i am going to have to remove it. is this normal for this mod.

Yes, somewhat. I actually had issues with my foot hitting my centerstand when I had to stock pegs because the PO swapped my exhaust and it no longer had the stop for the center stand. You can either remove it, or just take a piece of rubber hose and zip tie it to the cross bar on the center stand, it'll hit the underside of the frame and keep it from sticking up quite as high. It's hard to explain but if you take a look under your bike you'll probably see what I mean.

I'm not following this? I did this peg upgrade a year ago and have never had the center stand issue being described here (or any issue) I quite like these pegs. am I missing something?  I'm just curious as to what this is referring to...
were talking about these right?

Don't remove the center stand. You need it for maintenance.
Add to the bumper that it hits when it is up. Make it so it doesn't go up as high. I did that when I added Gimbel rear sets. The lever of the center stand stuck up between the new peg and new shifter lever. Simply adjusted/modified the bumper that is mounted on the exhaust that is the stopper for the center stand.

I do have the exhaust off right now to repaint it. Could that be the problem. I didn't think about that.

adidasguy

Probably. The exhaust has the stopper to keep the center stand from going up and slapping the underside of the frame. Exhaust back on - should be OK.

I would just remove the center stand anyways. I took it off after my first long ride because it can scrape in corners which is very distracting and could be dangerous.

I'd like to see what angle you're at to scrape the center  stand. That thing is tucked up so high I can't see how it would scrape unless:
1. Your going down
2. Your center stand springs are broken and it is hanging down too low

A bike can fall over and not touch the center stand. Enlighten us, please, on how it can scrape?
Right side: muffler and exhaust is outside the center stand - so it can't scrape on the right.
Left side: Well, your pegs will scrape first. The lever for the center stand is right against the frame so how can that scrape before you've ground off the pegs and your feet?

Center stand is so useful for maintenance I can't imagine not having one.
