Hi,
I'm a pretty new member with a couple of questions. I picked this up about a month ago for $1700. It's an 06 with 4400miles on it (now 4500mi). So far I'm very pleased and think I got a pretty good deal on it. This place has been really great and I have learned a lot about these bike already. I just have 2 questions. First, I need a center stand. Will a center stand from any year fit an 06? I put a "wanted" post on the other page here looking for one and a member said they think they are all compatible....just want to be sure. Second, springs! I want new springs. I'm 210lbs and the stocks are way to soft. Will I need any special took to get longer springs like Sonic or Progressive in the tube? Will I be able to push them in and screw the cap back on by hand without much trouble? The rear shock is fine...I just cranked it up to 6.
Why are you looking here?

Welcome!  If you haven't located one already I'll sell you the center-stand from my 09F (cheap).  I removed it over the winter (I bought a front wheel bike stand and I already had a Bike/ATV jack) so I had no use for it.

I had my springs installed by a mechanic so I can't help you with that one.  But I know somone here will :)

Springs will be a little longer, but with them, you will receive a length of material to make new spacers. remove your old spring and spacer and lay them down together. the put the new spring next to the old and measure how much spacer to cut. Now they are the same length, but the spring is stiffer!
