Hi everybody.  New guy here.  First day as a member and I'm so happy I was told about this site, GStwin.com.  I'm 68 years old, married with grown children.  Now I can buy my toys.  First bike was a 650 Triumph, second was a new 1966 BSA Spitfire Hornet.  After that I bought a new 185CC Suzuki that I rode mostly off road.  My best friend and I bought one at the same time and we put lots of miles on them.  Every Sunday was my ride day and I'd be gone all day.  Fast forward about 44 years.  I started riding again about 3 years ago.  I am no longer into the fast bikes.  I ride just for the enjoyment of riding.  The first thing I did was take the MSF class.   I was surprised I learned so much in this class  My drivers license already had a motorcycle on it.  For all those years I never had it taken off, knowing one day I would ride again.  About three years ago I bought a 1982 Honda Silver Wing Interstate with the hard bags and box.  After that I bought a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 1100.  Then I bought a 2003 Connie.  Now I'm looking for a GS500F.  There is a very good chance this will be my last bike.  My wife loves riding with me and I love having her come along.  We spend about 8 months a year in the Philippines and about 4 months a year in Michigan.  If they sold the GS500F in the Philippines I'd buy one here to.  My best friend has ridden motorcycles almost all his life.  Now he rides a ST1300 and a Venture.  Most of his time is spent on the ST1300 but when his wife goes with him he takes the big bike.  His wife won't ride on the ST1300.  Now I'm in the market for a like new 2004 or newer GS500F.  I didn't mean to be so long winded but I sure am happy to be here.  Ride safe my friends.  I hope out paths cross down the road.
Bud  :D

I just started riding this year and I can't wait to learn more and more. A GS500 will be my first bike and my excitement to own one is immense!  :icon_mrgreen: If anybody see's one for sale let me know!
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!"  ~Hunter S. Thompson

Hey,
I'm Matt.  I currently work as a systems engineer in lakeland Fl. I've had a Honda Shadow when I was in high school and through community college.  When I moved to Tampa and saw how people cut me off while I was driving my 3 Ton Avalanche I promptly got rid of it.  Now that I am out of the city I picked up a beat up, broken down 2004 GS500F, and I am rebuilding it.  Wish me luck!

Hi. My names jon and I live near wolverhampton, west midlands.I used to have a honda hornet 600,hence the user name.I sold the hornet 600 18 months ago when the recession was biting hard.Sad to see it go...but needs must.
I am about half way through building a hardtail chopper/bobber. I built a jig to make my own custom frame.Have also made the seat pan,all the brackets to hold the engine and various bits and bobs.
A mate of a mate was selling a stolen recovered gs 500 which I bought of him a few months ago.As soon as I saw it I thought "well,I need a commuter bike for work." But the more I kept looking at it,the more I was thinking "this could be a little project cafe racer" So thats where I am now....Attempting to turn it into something a bit different.

Cosimo_Zaretti

I'd be interested where you go with that cafe project.  The GS has a perimeter frame with the sloped back tank, which makes it tricky to get traditional cafe lines, although I've seen some cool customs done with it.

Hello my name is Alex I'm 19 almost 20.
My first and only bike is an 04 gs500f. I got it for free from my Gf's uncle and has been sitting since 05. Super clean but having some running problems. Fine when parked.

Don't argue with an 18wheeler.

Hi I'm Mark, I live in Australia and am getting back into riding after a 15 years break.
This is my first GS500 but have had a whole range of bikes in the past...
So far so good...except for the amount of corrosion I am finding in the tight spots on the bike that itself that is :)

G'day mark, there's a few of us Aussies here come say g'day in tge Aussie section, and throw a pic of your ride up.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Hi everyone!! I'm new here. I am 38,I live in western north carolina. I rode dirtbikes as a kid, then didn't ride for alot of years, about ten years ago I decided to start back riding, I got my endorsement on a DRZ400S dualsport. I owned several different bikes up to 2011 when I bought a 2006 GS500F. I have been checking out this site for awhile,I have already learned alot about my bike just by reading post and everyone seems cool and eager to help,so I thought I would make it official and join up!!!        My GS 100% stock except for suzuki valve stem caps!

Tks codajastal, as soon as I can figure out how to post a pic I will, but it's just a run of the mill blue 2002 with surface rust, new swing arm bearings, new chain, cogs. and hopefully soon new oil seals. Also has a broken choke
lever, calls for acrobatics when starting. But it runs well.
