SO I bought my bike for $150 and it was beaten, bruised, and bashed. I had to re-wire most of it. Rebuild the carbs. Put the front end back on. THEN it was ready to ride. Not pretty but rideable. I still need a few parts to get it to an almost complete bike. Here it is after about 10 Hours of work.Luckily it had new tires.

Nice looking bike! You should get with Adidasguy and pick up a new set of rear plastics. He has a bunch in varying condition. Even if it's not the same color it's better than nothing!! :)

One of the parts that was broken was the seat release part that holds the cable in.

so here's what I made. It took about two hours on a manual mill and a piece of scrap aluminum square stock. I know I could've bought a new one for about $10 but this was free as I had nothing to do at work. Actually I made money on it.
If anybody has issues with these breaking let me know. I might be able to hook somebody up cheap.

My whole lock is broken and gone for the seat lock, if you could make one that just flips it. like a switch or something. i would take it. What year is it it has the newer tank but the older style seat, and rear plastics from the look of it.

My bike is a 96 but I have no clue what year the tank is. Think a 2004. As you can see I'm in need of a release switch of done sort as well and am working on a design. I'll make a couple and let you know.

I need one as well... the lock is gone; it's just the cable hanging down with a scrap of metal at the end from the old mechanism (it still works, you just have to pull down on the scrap of metal). If you make up something, PM me with the final result and price... I may be interested.

So I have a couple ideas on a design. They won't lock or anything. Price is probably about $25. Trying to make it cheaper but with the OTS parts involved thats about as good as I can do. I'll keep you updated and if I can change to a cheaper design we'll all benefit. Anyone interested send me a PM so it's easier to track who wants one.
