 Hi all!! My name is Nick, I gotta say i love this site! I bought a 2009 GS last year brand new no miles. Got a screaming deal on it, I think? But any way I found I didn't really like the way it rode, so I ended up not really riding it as much as i wanted to, barely through the break in period. And it was mainly because I just couldn't get the suspension right. So over the winter after may late nights of searching for a solution I found this wonderful sight. And after much research I was able to find the solutions to my suspension issues and I just cant stop ridding it now!!!! Its a whole new bike and I just love it!!!!! So thank you GSTWIN for helping me find the solutions to my problems and walking me through the installs on the wiki page. AND SAVING ME A TON OF MONEY by using things I would have never thought to use. Ended up using a 95 GSXR 750 mono shock in the rear ( EBAY $15 just had to get it filled with nitrogen, change oil ) and ( sonic springs up front with 15wt oil $110 shipped with the oil ) now it handles GREAT! SO THANK YOU GSTWIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is John, I'm 27 years old, owns a 2005 GS500f, currently service in the US Army and will be assigned to San Diego, California. I bought this GS500F used from a person who used it as their beginning bike. Its a little scratched up but a custom paint will do. I'm looking forward to gaining knowledge about the capabilities of my bike from experienced and knowledgable people in this forum. My bike is currenty setup as the having custom paint and dynojetted by the recommended jetting settings.

I'm Mondo, a photographer from Toronto, and my 1998 GS500E is my first motorcycle. Got my taste of two wheeling on a crappy but cool naked Chinese 150cc scooter, moved up to a very quick 200cc Aprilia scoot, then made the decision to get a motorcycle when I was faced with a 50km highway commute.

A mechanic buddy bought the GS to turn into a street tracker, but ran out of funds and time, so he flipped it to me last summer. 15,000kms, only one previous owner. The tank was grunged, so we found one on ebay and the bike was mine by July. The bike was black and silver, but the addition of a red tank looked surprisingly good, so it stayed that way - funny how many people mistake it for a Ducati.

Everything is stock, besides smaller indicators, shorter mirrors, a GIVI topbox and an F-16 sport screen. Thinking about getting GIVI side cases, since I carry a lot of photo gear. Not having other bikes to compare to, I'm having a blast, though my scoot can smoke it on takeoff.

GSTwins was very helpful in making the decision to buy the bike and is a great resource in learning about my bike.

Cheers!

Hey Raf, good to see you here. Funny, since we're Facebook friends, we haven't even ridden together. Which GS do you have?

Hi everyone
My name is Peter Ciprian I am 23 years old and live in Constanta, Romania.
I am the proud owner of a 1998 Suzuki GS 500 E model since 2006, who turned just this month 70.000km. Gs is the engine without death, absolutely no technical problem since I bought it. We had an accident last year in which the GS has suffered most but I managed to revive him.  the GS also has a bigger sister a '99 suzuki GSXF 600 Katana
I'm glad to meet you all and wish you all the best dry asphalt

More pics with my GS you can find them here:  http://bikepics.com/members/cipsk4/98gs500/

Hi there everyone!

I am 22, and I live near Champaign, IL.  I'm a newer rider, I took the basic rider safety course and got hooked, searched for the perfect bike with the perfect price for 9 months since the course, finally bought a bike (04 gs500f with only 2.5kmiles), and recently joined the forum... I have been stalking the pages for some time now, and decided to introduce myself and compliment the wonderful collection of resources that have been offered by this site.  The wiki page has been incredibly useful, Thank You!

Hey all,

I've been lurking around here for a while now while getting my bike license and waiting to buy a GS from a friend who isn't riding as much anymore. I just picked it up yesterday, she's a 2005 GS500F in MINT condition (only 4100kms!) and rides great! :D

I'm an electrical eng student who likes to tinker ;), so I've got a few plans for this bike, but I live in Newfoundland, Canada, so I'll be driving a lot in the rain and fog! :cookoo:

Hey!  I'm originally from Mahomet and I live in Bloomington/Normal now.  We are looking to start an Illinois riders group and maybe meet up this summer.  Post up in the thread in the Meet and Greet section titled "Illinois Riders Group" if you are interested.  Good to see another Illinois GS rider here!

Thought I'd add this, since people around here seem to like photos  :icon_rolleyes:

Hey everyone. Name's Anthony, and I'm 22 in the about an hour N of Tampa FL.  Got a 95 GS for dirt cheap, and trying to get it running well enough to learn on.  To be honest though, I'm not too sold on the bike overall.  Long term, I'd like to move up to something more long trip friendly.

P.S.  Anyone got a cheap tank or seat? Mine are pretty bad.

Posted this in the meet and greet section, but I guess I can post here too :P

A little about me. I'm 20 (turning 21 this Monday) and just bought my first motorcycle, a 93' GS500E, and so far I am loving it. I'm a member of the Tennessee National Guard. I'm a newbie when it comes to riding and the mechanics. Going to take the Safety Course pretty soon so I can get out there and start riding. I've been reading around this forum for a couple of weeks even before purchasing the bike and I have learned a lot and keep learning from the community here. Now for pictures!
