Not today, but last night I took the fairings apart, replaced the crappy headlight with a new Sylvania Ultra H4, much nicer and clearer  :thumb: then also put a set of T-Rexx Frame Sliders on her, they fit and look great!

Then I gave her a bath and put everything back together before the girlfriend got upset at me  :icon_rolleyes:

EDIT: Here's the T-Rexx Frame Sliders post I just put up for those who are curious.

Phenix got an oil change. I didn't know when the 2006 parts bike had an oil change.
Junior got a new left side emblem to match the right side timing cover. I see I need to touch up the rest of the paint a little.
(Yes - I know the belly pan is still not on. OK - this weekend I'll put it back on.)

rebel_rocket

Wired up an sv tail light and mocked up how it would look if I kept the bobbed tail. (ps thanks adidasguy for answering my question about it)
What do you guys think?

slightly modded 09 Gs500f
pro taper contour handle bars

Oil change! Changed from whatever was in the bike when I got it to some 10W-40 synthetic. So smooth. I shed a tear when I shifted from 1st to 2nd and didn't pop into neutral.

Mary:
Can't wait to see it on Flick. Its OK if you want to paint it white or black or blue to match Flick.
Happy Birthday! (Did I get that right or is it a secret?)

I gots my new bits from Adidas! Thank you so much there is a bottle of bundy here for ya mate! I got new slides for inside my carbs so the can go back on tonight. My bike is gonna be total pimp! One thing I did notice my oem needles are bigger than the ones that came with the slides.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I was curious about that Adidas so they are paintable? The BF wasn't sure but  :woohoo:

They're clean, plain stainless steel. Should be no problem painting them. Clean, prime and paint. Use a washer onthe mounting bolts do the bolt doesn't scrape away the paint.

I replaced all my idiot lights, gauge backlights, and park light with LED! :icon_mrgreen:

Oh, and I installed a little clock/temp gauge/voltage meter in under the front fairing, and it has a BLUE backlight option! O0

On my drive to work today in partial sun I could actually see my idiot lights! I also knew what time it was, what temp is was, how hot my crankcase was (I connected the "Outdoor" temp sensor to the crankcase under the fairing) and how my battery was doing!  :woohoo:

Installed new brake lever.  Ordered new rear tire, Race Tech .90 kg/mm fork springs, 15W fork oil, Pro Grip 780 race grips and heating elements to go under the new grips.  I also wasn't very thorough when I researched which levers to order, so I had to get a new clutch perch.  I found a Katana 600 perch on ebay for $17 that should fit the SV650 levers that I bought.

Hopefully next weekend I can get all the new bits installed and do a valve adjustment.  I've been afraid to travel too far from home on a weather checked rear tire.  :icon_eek:

Applied the stickers I got for the rear fairing and helmet.  Today, it's clean and lube chain.

Im new around here so ill start with hello.

Hello.

A few weeks back i dropped my gs500f and cracked the fairing around the right indicator. I used a putty to get it sealed and solid again. Only problem is i noticed some serious buzzing. I thought this was the join between the two fairing sections and used some foam tape to add some pressure to the join. Started the bike up after this and noticed the buzzing hadn't gone.

Turns out it was the wind screen! I pulled it out, added some foam tape to the inner contact points and put it back on. Lo and behold my buzz problem is gone. Tomorrow ill take it out properly and see what the ride is like. :D

Zwerski

Installed the cut-down cafe fairing I got from adidas, which was patched and painted black, then prettied up with reflective stripes to match the rest of the bike.
