Hi, Guys. Call me Javi. I'm new to street riding, only been about two months now. I live in Ontario, Oregon, 25 yrs old, married for 6 yrs, have two kids. I ride a 2005 gs500f, alittle scuffed up but it just gives it character. It has 2 miles over 4000 and i paid $2250.00 U.S for it. I have put a new battery in, yoshi slip-on, new mirrors and tires. Here soon I'm going to wrap the plastics in carbon fiber vinyl, ill post when its done.
Rub some dirt in it, you'll be fine!

New guy here.  Jason, in southwestern NH in the shadow of Mount Monadnock.  Got a 2007 GS500F 2 weeks ago... With 165 original miles! Buddy bought it as a left over in 2009, then got deployed for 2 years.  Sold it to me silly cheap!  Tank cleaned, carbs cleaned, mice cleaned out, new air filter, new battery and now have put almost As many miles on it this week as the previous owner did in total!
Only thing it's missing is right side mid fairing, so presently neither is on it.

Pic from our maiden voyage.  :D

Hi Everyone,

I'm a 22 yr old uni student (not for much longer :)). Finished my engineering studies, now finishing my chemistry studies. I live on the Central Coast, nsw, Australia.

I've had my '05 GS500F for 2 years now. It has served me well, getting me to and from uni at all ungodly hours when buses don't go. Unfortunately it's out of action thanks to the starter motor, so will be replacing that when holidays come up.

Cheers

Hi,
I'm a 64 year old lifelong rider, first "bike" was a Honda Cub 50 in 1965.  raced a little back in the 70's and 80's.  have owned Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph, KTM, Bultaco, always sportbikes and offroad, never cruisers or Hardly Davidsons.  When the economy crashed I lost everything, sold my ZX11 Kawasaki and a KTM 250 EXC.  split from the ex-wife and moved on.  Social security keeps me going.  couldn't be without something to ride, bought a '92 GS500 for a song.  it had been painted with a "broom" two or three times, think it was red originally, it's a real rat bike, a cockroach by any other name.  it runs fine since I stripped and cleaned the carbs.  handles better since I greased all the suspension joints and put oil in the forks!  someday I'll paint it properly but now is the time to ride!

It is in the FAQ:

Also, using the SEARCH function is very handy. Lots of postings come up if you search for "posting pictures" or "post pictures"

OK, that seems to work!  it's pretty rough but I'm more interested in it's mechanical condition than how it looks for now.

Hi everyone. I'm a 35 year old Canadian living in New Zealand. I've been riding for 5 years on my trusty 2007 GS500F. It's a lovely machine and it's great to meet a group of people who feel the same.

Got fed up saying "Eh" and thought you'd give saying "Bro" a whirl, eh?

From one cold place with lovely scenery to another cold place with lovely scenery. Nice work. Pretty soon you'll be worthy enough to come to Australia. But learn to say "mate" properly first - and make sure you harden up, just as a precaution  :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen: :thumb: :thumb:
