Some people might not care about KBB but 100% of banks do. With that being said, no bank is going to give you more than what it is worth.

With all that being said, I bought the bike and brought it home last week. Its sitting outside right now but I havent had a chance to tear into it and see how much damage is done. Im busy putting back together my 95 and going to sell it

No lie, I would like to get it. And in case the OP comes back, I'm the one who was testing you asking you about it. I'm 3 hrs south of you. But like I said on the phone, KBB only shows it at 1500 amount and a USED engine on ebay was at $1050

Even at 1K for the bike and another 1k for the engine you now have more in it than what the bike is worth. That in any deal, is a bad investment. Then you got shop time or labor on swapping engines out and PRAY that's all there is to it.

If it was running and had no issues, your price wouldn't even be questioned. But even if you were to part it out, not only would I be a PITA but I doubt that you would get 1K out of it.

Unfortunately it's a 500. If it were bigger and more popular you might have better luck on parting it out.

I am still interested and want it but I simply can't buy it and invest in it for more than its worth. Plus for me, I have to include 7hrs of drive time to go there and back and maybe more because Alpharetta is a good bit past Atlanta.

Where are you at?  I'm in Thomasville.  Gonna be selling my 96 pretty soon.

Yeah, I saw where you bought it, was just curious.  Especially since you're going to have to put a motor in that bike you got, and I'm rather interested in the seat cowl the OP had.

Drove by a 2007 GS500F with the same decals removed this morning. Weird.

I would like to mention that craigslist has been updated now stating it was not road debris but a "blown rod"

on a side note, not to be a @#$&% but it sounds like either A. it was crashed or B. you decided to jump it and landed really hard (Ask me how i know)
Ill bite.........How do you know :icon_question:

My dads brilliant friend let my ride his old sport bike then let me jump it off a trailer ramp (his idea BTW), i bottomed out when i landed on the nice soft pavement then went head first into a truck, anyways, the engine cracked on impact, luckily he had just bought a new bike and didn't really care, I was lucky i put on my dirt bike gear (full helmet, chest pads, etc) or id have alot more then a sore neck and popped shoulder  :icon_eek:

Fascinating. A For Sale post turns into a running thread.
You gotta' love this GSTwins forum.
Over at StromTrooper.com this thread would have been shut down by the third post and you guys would have been promptly "spanked and put to bed".

Just sayin'
Cool beans man.
And BTW: I guess $1300 US is a bit steep for that particular rig, eh  :dunno_black:
