Hi my name is Jon, I'm 42 years old. I am an IT Project Manager at Toyota's North American manufacturing head office in N.Ky (Cincinnati). I purchased a showroom condition 2007 GS500F with 235 original miles for $2500 last weekend. This is a first road bike after owning a few off-road trail bikes. Currently working on getting it ready to ride after being stored for a few months (fluids, battery etc.).

Hey all,

Just wanted to say hello. I'm a new rider, just picked up an '04 GS after doing my MSF course two weeks ago.  I'm out in the Bay Area, (Hayward, East Bay to be more precise) so if you see a tiny dude on a blue '04, feel free to say hello. I'm already getting some info (Fenderectomy, reflectorectomy coming shortly, not mention some carb work, not sure I'M going to be doing that though; any shop suggestions?) and become a better rider. See y'all out there.

Hey guys, 22 years old sparky from Brisbane Australia.
Just got my bike licence and bought my first bike, 2007 GS500.
Keen to turn it into a cafe racer sort of looking bike, would love some inspiration from you guys. Ive already seen plenty of GS500's cafe'd up, would love to hear how and what you have done to your bike.

G'day GSers.
I'm Phill, I live in Sydney Australia and ride a GS500F that I bought new at the start of the year. That is also when I got my bike learner's license but I have been driving for over 30 years. Ticked over 6,000km on the bike this evening.

The bike is mainly for commuting and a little bit of day tripping. Mods so far are a brighter headlight globe, sheepskin seat cover, RAMmount for the GPS and heated grips.

This is me with the bike at the dealership on the day I bought it:
Wherever you may be, there you are.
