May be an optical illusion, Addy, but your front tire looks like there is bugger all tread left in the middle.

Michael
Tire is fine. Optical illusion due to the dust on the tire from loose gravel a neighbor put in the alley. They now have to figure out how to get rid of it or make it solid. 5" if loose stuff is not safe for riding. They know it and they did it to the alley without city permission. If they don't fix it, the city will be notified or sooner if a biker low sides turning in or out of the alley and hits the gravel.

PS: Cleaning up the bike cave, I found  the original invoice in the box.
EXACTLY 2 years ago I bought it. Go figure? 540 pounds (including shipping) Not cheap. But worth it!

Old fashioned kero and toothbrush chain clean to get right into the crannies, wipe down with my best recycled towel cleaning cloth ... Untangled cleaning cloth from sprocket and chain! , white sticky panolin chain lube ... Ride for 70km in the warm spring afternoon  :thumb:

Junior is very happy. Took him for a ride on the ferry to Vashon. Many complements - no one really believes he is a 1992 bike.

A wonderful day. So glad Junior is back on the road - and so is he!  :woohoo:

A couple pix:

On the ferry back to West Seattle. What a nice way to end a ride! I thought the ferry was 2:45 and got there just before 2:30 as they were finishing loading the 2:30 run. Another blond moment - reading the M-F schedule instead of the weekend schedule. Doh! Still I got on.

My R&G stuff rocked up today so fitted it up straight away.

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

R&G - really quality products! Looks sharp!
(Personally, deciding if I should drill through Junior's new/old-stock fairing for the sliders. Probably will as the fairing fit on without removing the bobbin mounts - so they are still there ready for the sliders to be bolted back on and they are close to the fairing so I can easily mark where to drill. Should I?)

Got R&G crash knobs on the Bandit, sorry but I think they are crap.  Had a bike drop on Saturday, stationary simple tip over and the crash knob snapped clean off allowing the engine case to hit the asphalt and get scored and scuffed, luckily no serious damage.  I reckon a piece of turned timber would have worked better.  I'm replacing them with crash bars.

Any crash bar is there to help. I am sure any would have suffered, not knowing the exact circumstances. Damage may have been worse without them.

I had Suzi fall over. They were great. Do damage at all.

Any crash protectors will not protect against every fall/crash/slide/highside/lowside. They will help prevent damage if nothing more.
Just like air bags in cars help 99% of the people and cause more injury to 1%. The good out weights the occasional bad situation.

The bad is  that people do not see it that way. People want 100% protection or none at all - which is worse.

Adidasguy Junior looks sweet! :thumb: I like the black and red, and the new tail and those fairings just look stock (which is good!).

And as for sliders, I didn't want to drill into my fairing, so I opted for the T-maxx frame sliders, they get in your way a little when doing maintenance but they're solid and have protected my bike when someone leaned on it in the driveway!

Post on that in fails coming shortly!

What have I done with my bike today? Started out dropping the oil, pulled the clutch cover off(this thing was puss pouring oil) rtv'd the cover & block. Replaced the gasket w/ the oem replacement. Changed the oilfilter (broke a stud in the process.) replaced the stud now I have a new leak coming from the filter cover (gotta replace that gasket now too) put some castrol 10w40 4t full syn motorcycle oil back in. Replaced the spark plugs and cleaned up my mess of oil in the Mom's garage. Then scratched my head in frustration of all the damn dry rotted gaskets throughout the whole bike. I guess I can live with a slow leak now that the major one was repaired. But hey I only paid 600 bucks for it.

The fairing is stock - just not sold in the USA. TCP and 5 Stars both made them for Suzuki. They were identical except for the hot stamp onthe wind screen. So I suspect they were contracted to make them otherwise they would not be identical (I have a used 5 stars. Juniors is a new old stock TCP).

The fairing covers much of the motor as you can see. T-rex would still require drilling with this fairing. I have the R&G slider ends still on. So all I have to do is drill the holes and screw the plastic bobbins back  on. I'll probably do that when I check the valves, check the head blts and change oil in a month (once everything settles in). I have to remove the bottom of the fairing to do anything. It really hugs the motor and frame.

Shaddow

Today I double checked where the valves bounce.

Started to replace my chain and sprockets- come to find out I had hours of trouble with it! and cleanup was a Bit**.

But on the other hand- I now have a bike thats quiet like the wind and purrs like a Twin. :)

Changed Juniors bars from 89's to Euro type-1 because the 89's were too close to the TCP fairing on a hard turn. I couldn't lock the bike. Now I can.
I LOVE the fairing. So small - almost like a bikini fairing except the midriff is covered (LOL to Costa). Really - it is like riding with the headlight cowling because it is so close to the bike. Not huge like the "F" fairing. I think I will leave it on Junior. Not going back to the bikini.
