Truckies at work are using something called Car Cam. Suction cup to the windscreen, plug into the cig lighter. Constantly records on a loop. If something happens unplug and you are left with the last 10 minutes. That's what I was told by them. I think this is it http://www.carcam.com.au and ebay results show heaps for cheaps http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=car+camera

I have cameras in both my ute and my car. Records in 1080 HD and works a treat. Have already had it used as evidence at Nerang Police Station to catch one of those little pricks that thinks it a good idea to point green lasers at your face while you are driving. You really should not point a laser in the face of the person in the car behind you when they have a camera tracking your every move and have a perfect shot of your numberplate. :cookoo:
LMAO. some people are just stupid.

Yea the coppers were laughing as well and said they could not believe the quality of the footage and wanted to know where to get the camera from for their patrol cars. It turned out the son and his mates had borrowed daddy's car and then proceeded to fool around. Apparently the father dealt with his son worse than the police ever would have. lol

That is what I've in the Esky but it records in 15 minute loops till the memory card is full. Mine has a 32gig card. Sound quality is so so but good enough to clearly hear voices. Picks the engine note of the angry Escort out easily too.

I was readon on one of them that it records in 15 min loops until the car is full - then - keeps recording so the next 15 minutes overwrites the first 15 minutes. Meaning, you'll have 45 to 60 minutes of the lastest footage. From the standpoint of "this is what happend" video evidence, that's a great idea as it means you don't need to manually wipe the card so it can keep going.

Mine all do that as well as straight recording. You can set it to loop at 5, 10 and 15 minute increments.
