Replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the head of my motor. Wicked dirty and greasy on the right side. (:

Finished up Phenix:
1. Re-check torque on clutch basket bolts (I don't remember doing that - a blond thing)
2. Checked valves. One exhause overff 10 so had a 2.675 shim that fixed it
3. Carb sync - was close but improved it a little (That left vacuum port is a beach to get at!)
4. Put on    LED-RÜCKLICHT SCHWARZ YAMAHA FZS1000 FAZER YZF-R1 RN04
     Lights4All. It is smoked.
5. Switched from Euro type 1 to 89 clips as Junior needed the type-1's to fit inside the fairing.
6. Replaced the slightly used bars of the clip ons with a pair of new old stock steel bars - well - just because and I had new old stock on the shelf.
7. Took off the rear grab handle. Looks better without it. Cleaner lines in the tail.
8. Gave him a bath.

Now will go riding.

I will need to close up the gap in the tail lefdt after the rear grab bar was removed. Phenix looks so hot!

Enjoyed my ride over Tambo and around on the Red GS then got home and went out again on the Black GS. Man I love the Black GS, its got twice the power of the Red one for some reason? Half as many Kms on the clock too. Oh, red one is a slingshot model if that makes any difference?

Slingshot was a marketing term relating to the "slingshot carburetors". What it means beyond that I do not know right now (don't remember). Marketing name used outside the USA, even though same bikes as in USA. You can tell the tail plastics on Phenix are from Europe because they say "Slingshot".
Difference in power? Compression; plugs; mixture; air box; emissions crap
Each of my bikes acts different (or is it differently? Where's the grammar police?).

Grammar Police? Slips, where the fukk are you?

I think it must be the carbs. Maybe I will swap the carbs over and see what happens cause I would rather the Red Bike be the better one! cause I like it more (hope they arent watching)

Would that taillight fit a 90? (sorry, I don't remember what year Phenix is)

And if it does, is it plug&play or does it require rewiring and/or relays?
Bike: 1990 GS500E (Vance & Hines full system, K&N Lunchbox, BM Clubmaster bars, Katana rear shock, 0.90 Sonic Springs), 2000 ZRX1100 (Kerker slip-on)

Had Racetech .90 springs and Racetech emulators installed and professionally setup by a local race shop.  They balanced the front suspension with the R6 rear shock setting sag, compression, preload and rebound.  Thicker 15w oil was used as well.  Some might say it is overkill in relation to the cost of the bike but I plan to keep this bike a while.  All I can say is WOW.  Seriously night and day.  The bike is so much more planted.  Going over bumps that unsettled the bike in the past now feel "flat"  The shop highly recommended the emulators and it was worth the extra cost.

Since you asked.....

Differently is the correct word. You are describing a verb, which requires an adverb to complete the phase. Differently is the adverbial form of different.

I bought myself a Wheel Balancer on the net. It arrived today and I have already balanced the front wheel. It was about 15 grams (1/2 ounce) off balance. I have been experiencing some moderate front end vibration/bouncing at around 70-80kph (45-50 mph) but was not sure if it was road surface or balance related as it was inconsistent. The tyre and wheel are true and smooth and the wheel bearings perfect. I hope this fixes it. Over the next day or two I will pull the back wheel out and do it too.

Got my first night back wrenching on the project bike! Feels good to switch back to moto's for sure

I swapped my sonic springs into the rebuilt forks i got from Baltimore. Put in new springs, fluid, and spacers. Jessi, me gf, even came down for a minute to help. Got her to assist on draining the forks, then we gave Gabby a good wipe down.

Great gf you've got there!

Wait, I think I misread your post. I read "gf" "drain" & "wipe down".....I'm sure there were more words there, but I can't recall now.

Put in the '03 katana shock yesterday, can't wait to get it up to speed and see how she handles.

sold both of the gs's.  The black 89 was a planned sell. the red 90 wasn't but I cant complain.   I got a refresher course, then both my sons learned how to ride and got licences.  Bought both bikes for a song and dance and sold for double.  The sell of the red one dropped the purchase price to 500.00 for my 96 600 Bandit.

Put new grips on, ProGrip. I'll try them out today.

I got my bike out for pictures the other day.  The bike was originally purchased to teach my girlfriend to ride, but it will be recommisioned this winter as a project bike for me.  Hopefully springs/bars/shock/solo tail/headlight fairing to turn it into a (more) respectable looking bike.

EDIT:  I now realize those pictures are exceedingly large.  My apologies.  They will be downsized in the future
