That's awesome Patrick :D
I had already sent them a photo and he is selected to be displayed.

however.....the difference is......

Seeing him selected amongst 500 other bikes is a real complement. Someone saw him and said Fuuuuck! This bike has to go on display!

Having Junior SELECTED by the Sound Rider staff is a super complement! They apparently went around during the evening and "carded" bikes they wanted in the show. Cool! I am so jazzed about this.

I have another Gimbel seat on order to paint with the matching red/silver stripes. I ordered a few other new parts from my dealer so as much as possible is new old stock. Like the rear plastic fender: Only $40 for a new one. So why not? I have been bitten by the "Show Bike" bug. Ordered brand new instrument bracket (ugh! $120!) But now I really want Junior to be the worlds most perfect and beautiful GS500 ever in existence.

I now appreciate the Harley guys and all their chrome. Having a "show bike" puts a whole new perspective on things.

I will never get back the money I put into Junior. Satisfaction and pride: that is priceless.

Rode Junior to Backfire Moto tonight.
Found this on him:

It is an invite to display him at the International Motorcycle Show. Although I had already sent in a picture, it was a very rewarding sight to see they had picked Junior to display while walking around all that 500 bikes. I saw that card on maybe 6 other bikes. That really made me smile! Junior being selected to be on display!  :woohoo:  How rewarding to have someone appreciate all my work and want to have Junior be displayed at the 3 day International Motorcycle Show Dec 14-16. What could be any better than that?

I saw how to nickle plate your gas tank:

Congrats.  Totally digging that nickel bike!

Thank you!

Tuesday I took off the other Gimbel seat and put on the OEM tail plastics. I think they look better and now the red/silver on the lower front cowling makes sense. Another of the smaller Gimbel seats on order to paint to match (that one on now is from Phenix and needs to go back to him.)

modular

Found the new top speed after all the mods. Seems the parts made a nice difference. :)

Yep pictures tonight, got home in the dark yesterday and ThatOtherGirl was upset about how late I was already.
the wife's new ride.

mister

I know a woman who rides a 250 Intruder. I swear something has been done to that bike. She does things on that, that no 250 Intruder has a right to do - But - she tells me it is bone stock. Man, can she ride that thing. On rides with other larger cruisers (such as C50's, HD's etc.) she leaves 90% of the pack behind and rides up front with the fast boys. Fack yeah! Good score for ThatOtherGirl  :thumb: :thumb:

when I test rode it I was pleasantly surprised by it.  sure its not GS500 sporty and certainly nowhere near my Bandit in terms of performance, but riding it home from the dealer I just felt very much at home even though cruisers are not good for my back.  I really want to take into the mountains for a squirt, but she's already getting up me for taking it out for a test run after fitting the screen to it. :icon_eek:

apparently you can change the stock exhaust for an aftermarket Suzuki style exhaust and gain 10% power without any other changes.  another lady rider I now has done this and the sound is awesome.

there's a guy I ride with occasionally who can ride anything and extract every bit from the bike, everything from 250's to over 1000's.  often see him riding one handed through the twisties dragging his hand along the road surface as he leans the bike over going past you.

Do a search for "Suzuki Gs500 clip on" on ebay

About $60 new

I did a 30 min ride this evening with them and no bad vibrations in the bars without weights.

Is it just because he mounted them above the triple? ... They aren't that different from typical clipons are they? ... I mean different from 89 GS clips yes, but regular clips?  :dunno_black:

Ah......since my muffler had a few scratches, I decided to cover them up. And yes, it hold up just fine with the heat.
