So did one of you jerks get the used full Jardine system I was watching on Fleabay?
I'm so pissed I missed out on it. Went for like $157 and $20 shipping.
I lost track of time at work and didn't look at the auction until right after it ended.

If you got it good job! I just want to know what your high bid was. lol
If it was like $190 then I wont feel so bad.  :D

Guilty as charged.

High bid $156.56

Not been called a "jerk" much. "Parts whore" - yes. I am ordering the mounting strap for it so really the price ends up a little more. Then $30 for the silencer to jam in the end. So, yes, it ends up about $190 so you have permission to not feel so bad.

I buy lots of stuff at low prices - never pay high prices - always my max bid is always well below what a part is really worth. With all the bikes that go through the Bike Cave, parts inventory is handy.

Got a really good deal on a used set of aztec8 dual headlights. Installed those along with some bar end mirrors. I think it looks pretty good with my clip ons installed.

I can't take full credit for this idea, I found an old thread from steezin and wheezin that did a gs500 just like it.

Wow I love dual setups like this great one.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Last day I rode was Dec 6th, motorcycle has been dormant due to snow since then.

BUT with these current circumstances....

self gifted jacket and pants arrive today
forecast for 50 in VT this weekend
Little moto friend starts half choke without even needing the battery charged!  What!? YES!  :kiss3:

It might be a moto weekend!  I'm so excited.  Now, no rain, no rain!  Having the world covered with ice right now would be a bit of a buzzkill.

Cmon cmon cmon!  I guess i'm gonna go get drunk just to pass the time :icon_twisted:

I finally drained the nasty old fork oil out and installed my new .85 sonic springs i bought a couple months ago, along with some fresh bel-ray fork oil (12 fl oz per fork) spacers cut to 5 3/8". . took it for a lovely test ride and blue monster handles so much better!!!  :thumb:
the forks look great courtesy addidasguy... never even changed the seals still no leaks. and i borrowed your idea long ago about the harley stick on reflectors on the forks. it looks sooo clean.

now to tackle the much needed valve clearance check... doing that tonight. did the forks this morning.

Replaced handlebars, grips, barends and mirrors with cheap bits from BikeBandit.

Looks so much better than the rusted motocross-whatever-the-heck-they-were bars that were on the bike when I got it.

Took it out for an hour to see what it's like - I think the cheap barends are a bit too cheap, hands felt like springs when I got back.

Finally christened my KettenMax chain cleaner. Definitely less messy than just using kerosene and a brush and cleans very well.

Unlike the video I would still advise having some rags or a drip tray under the bike as dirty chain cleaner (kerosene) does go with the chain and drip, especially near the front sprocket.
Wherever you may be, there you are.

Sold the drz.. :woohoo: :icon_neutral:

Managed to make little off of it, but I will surely miss it! It's been a faithful bike, but wanted another payment off my head. Just met the kid at 7am after hauled 6 hours here to get it! Now time to work on the gs :thumb:

Nice! Well, at least a GStwiner got it.
It was my fault for not setting a reminder about it. I've got to find an exhaust for this other bike. Some moron cut the entire end of the stock muffler off for some reason. I don't even want to know what it sounds like..

Safety first.

My parking light LED T10 burned out (probably heat related).  Replaced with a 194 amber:

Then, replaced the reflector that broke off.  Took off the bracket and replaced with a stick-on for a trailer:

Then lubed and adjusted the chain.  I need a new one soon I think...

It's not off that much... Check out the two holes to each side of the reflector. The left side you can see most of it and the right side you can see a sliver of it...

Still enough to annoy I guess  :dunno_black:

Sonic Springs, R6 Shock, R6 Throttle Tube, Lowering Links, T-Rex Frame Sliders, SW-Motech Alu-Rack, SH46 Shad Topcase, Smoked Signals, Smoked LED Tailight, ZG Touring Windscreen

Mechmech

Took off the original fender and put in one from an '06F, took off the (pretty shoddy) aftermarket turn signals that the PO had MacGyver'd on and put a pair of OEM ones from an '09F.

Then I finally was able to install the shad rack properly :woohoo:

I like the new turn signals quite a lot. Not sure if I'm going to chop at least a little bit off the rear fender... Leaving it as-is for now, tho I'm gonna find and add some kind of reflector to it (probably 3-4mm off-center like jestercinti  :icon_twisted:).
