I know a few of you have put on clip-ons, my handlebars are officially toast and I decided I am going to be looking into a set of clip ons.

However, I hear there are many times issues where they hit the tank? Anyone found a way to avoid this? Spacers?

Also, how do the 89 clip-ons differ? I'm assuming they don't hit the tank. But are also near impossible to find.

Truth: true 89's are in abundance. (At least for me). The Euro type-2 are also available. The hardest ones to find are the Euro type-1 which are the only ones that fit the 2001+ tank without shimming them..

I WISH it was in an obvious place in the WIKI.
