HAHA, I hope you could tell i was trying to convey sarcasm with the must have statement.

:thumb: .. and in return hope you could tell we were agreeing with your scepticism with our replies  ;)

Suzuki GS 500 - $500 (7th Ave & Greenway)

Bike mostly put together, the seat pan and foam is good. The foam needs to be recovered with a suitable material, and the seat needs hardware to mount it to the bike. And the electric components should prob be mounted different from stock since I took off the side plastics. Just incase the bike goes down it wont damage the regulator rectifier or something.

Ran surprisingly strong before I put it in storage. Projects are piling up, haven't touched this one since last April, so I'd like to get it to someone that will use it.

Turns over, has spark, but wont start.

What he is saying is
"I have fukked my bike up and cant fix it but I think its worth at least $500 in parts"
What a POS  :dunno_black: Why do people do this to their bikes

^^^ LMAO!!

Come on Coda you know you would drive it!

Look at the tripmeter, someone's been mucking about inside of there. Definitely something to be weary of.

I e-mailed and asked precisely that question.

Most deals that are too good to be true are usually too good to be true. However there is those few times that things work out. I for example found a 2006 with 5k listed for 1000 the bike had been sitting and needed a "tune" according to the seller got him down to 900 went to look at it and the battery he had was dead so knocked off 200 more so I got it for 700. Yes, I was cautious but I took a chance maybe 200 bucks in parts later I had it running flawlessly (new carbs, fuel lines, derust tank, and tank fuel chicken ;) ) so if you go to look at it just go with your gut I might add that this was the first bike I was shopping for and my budget was tight being in college and all so nobody and i mean nobody was going to turn me away from that bike and it turned out good but just because the price is low doesnt mean shy away just investigate thats all.

2003 GSX-R 600 under 12k miles - $1500 (Tremont)

2003 gsxr 600 very low miles. I purchase in 2003 brand new but it has been in storage for the last 6 years, ridden occasionally during that time. The battery is currently dead.....most likely needs a bit of springtime maintenance as it has been in storage for while without being started. Miles very low as stated, could be over 12k but not likely.

Holy crap...I e-mailed to see if this one is legit.

BockinBboy

^^ That one just looks like a scam... untitled or non-running/wrecked 'might' go for that.

I agree...we'll see if I get a reply.

bombsquad83

I got this in reply.  Almost too quick with the reply.  Moved overseas?  Hmmm...  No mention of the title, another hmmm....

Probably a scam.

Bike has never been wrecked.  I would say fair/good condition...only because it simply has not been ridden.  I bought the bike brand new in 2003 and moved overseas in 2006, it's been in storage most of that time so I'd say the tires probably need replaced and last I had heard the stator was not charging properly.  Looks wise it's great, I think I scratched the cowl once and as I was pulling into storage on a gravel parking lot I lost balance and it fell very slowly as I caught it.....slight marks on the fairings but only if you know what to look for.

Reply:
no problem on title, it's clear and in Illinois can be signed over by a family member.  I'm back in the US now, TN.

Interesting...this actually seems like it might be legit.  Anyone have experience with a scam that seemed like this?

jacob92icu

Well if he was over seas (deployed in the military) than he probably is stacked and not very interested in motorcycles anymore, or he could just buy a new one and get rid of that one to get some cash for his family back home. Just a thought.
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.
