If your bike as this symbol on the forks it is made in Spain

I cant make out the symbol inside that, but mine as the same thing on the forks.

Isn't this a better indicator of where it is made?

Is that the engine as well or is it just assembled in Spain with a Jap motor :icon_question:

"Yeah....all the Fs and the last Es were built in Spain, they moved them over around 2002."

Stick around long enough and you will see the questions never change, only the people answering them  :D

My GS is a 2010 Spanish build. It plays havoc with US-based VIN decoders that try to tell me it is a 1980 model. Other decoder try to tell me it is a 2-stroke with an engine between 300 and 399cc.  :cookoo:

Same!

Found an Aussie Vin Decoder.. See >>> http://www.irego.com.au/free-vin-decoder.php

That's because if a new person comes to a forum and asks a question that is ignored or flamed for it leaves. If you know the answer why not just type it, after all you already clicked the topic and read it..

If i had this mind set i would not do fire education at schools every year, after all they ask the same questions...

I'm pretty sure Sledge wouldn't expect school kids to search a forum. And I am pretty sure you ask "Any questions?".  So you want to throw another non-sequitur?

So your saying high school kids don't ride motorcycle, good to know. Also "And I am pretty sure you ask "Any questions?"." needs to be re-typed to be understandable.  Need a wet nap to wipe the brown of your nose?

I don't flame or belittle anyone for asking questions, everyone starts somewhere :dunno_black:....but I did get bored years ago answering those same old, same old questions that constantly pop up in here and these days I prefer to leave such matters to those who.....well those who don't mind constantly repeating themselves and enjoy getting the kudos for it.   :thumb:...and lets not even mention the `whats the best oil/tyres/plugs/brake fluid/chains etc etc` questions  :D

Don't worry though, I still like to chime in on the more obscure, involved and complicated issues that need some real experience and engineering knowhow to answer, ones that the newbies like you tend to struggle with, incidentaly dont think I am on my own here, if you open your eyes you will see there are many more like me in here who do the same.  :thumb:

Oh  and....If I see someone that gives out info that I know is wrong or misleading and that could have some nasty consequences if taken on board or followed I might also choose to say something. Like I did when you suggested hosing down a bike covered in fire extinguisher residue that might have contained monoammonium phosphate. Tsk tsk tsk  :cookoo: You do know how corrosive that stuff becomes when it mixes with water and turns into phosphoric acid and what that in turn does to aluminium and magnesium alloys and other soft metals don't you? :dunno_black:

If not I suggest you find out ASAP :thumb:
