Ok, we just found out that there is a lil more damage to the bike than cosmetic. it needs a left side coil pack, it also needs new forks, I am not sure if it is the whole forks setup or just the seals. am going to try and replace the seals first to see if that fixes the problem.

This leads me to my questions  ....

#1) What is the quickest and cheapest way to aquire a coil pack? Cannot find any on Ebay .... and how much should I expect to pay for the pack?

#2) If the problem is not the seals and I will have to replace the shocks, apart from '97 GS500 shocks what other Suzuki models share the same size shocks as my GS500 and which one are the most "economical" choice?

If any y'all can help me out with the above pls PM me or email me or reply to the post or ... well, you get the picture ... Need help

Um... what's a coil pack?  If you mean the left ignition coil, then you can often swap out both coils for a pair of coils off a junkyard bike (doesn't need to be a GS, or even a Suzuki).
You cannot escape our master plan!

er, you talking about the forks right, not "shocks" (as in rear shock)? You want 37mm fork tubes if thats the problem. I have heard Katana forks bolt right in but you're talking about the WHOLE setup, not just the forks.  You're bike was knocked over wasnt it? If so the damage to the forks cant be such that you'd have to replace the entire setup. Probably worse case you bent a fork tube-you should get that new and I recall that they were around $70 at dealer (each) but I may be wrong.

Can you clarify?

Yes, it needs the left side ignition coil ... So I can get that off ANY bike?

Yeah, I am talkin bout the forks ... The tubes dont look bent but the forks were leaking fluid and I believe that almost all the fluid has oozed out. So I donot know if I just need to seals or replace the tube.

OK fork tubes... check and see if they are bent, or gouged in the travel area... if so seals wont do you any good. Werase had forks few weeks age... dunno if he sold it.
Left side coil pack... no way in hell did you destroy a coil pack in the crash... I will bet you chewed up the wiring to the crank trigger... Hell your case right side even looks like its not smashed to bits... so the wiring  under it is the most likely culprit. Also make sure the jolts in the crash didn't shake the living daylights out of your crabs... making them not run on the left cyl. Check for vacuum leak as well... look for the vacuum line and the vacuum caps beign undamaged. Left carb vacuum line goes to petcock... so if it runs in prime only... there is a clue. I should ahve seen your bike when I was there...
Cool.

Just some info...

Our forks, rims and rotors are parts-binned from '88 GSXR750's. I don't know about triple clamps or steering stem, though. This info is courtesy Motorcyclist magazine; month and year I do not recall.
