Mainly because I find it hilarious. Also, why not?

Badot

For a house key it'd be fine. For a car or bike it'll more likely than not damage your ignition cylinder due to the excessive weight/torque.

RossLH

The key wouldn't damage the ignition cylinder from excessive torque, the operator would. Fortunately this operator understands the increased torque of such a key. And it'd take a lot more weight than a screwdriver handle to damage an ignition cylinder. They're a bit more robust than you seem to think.

I mean the torque that the weight of the handle exerts on the ignition cylinder due to its longer lever arm. Not only given the weight, but also imagine the force that'll put into your cylinder every bump.

I've seen plenty of ignition cylinders damaged by large keychains. I see no reason a screwdriver handle would be any better.

RossLH

If the ignition cylinder were horizontal, it may present an issue, but the ignition cylinder very closely follows the rake angle. Any force transferred from the front wheel will follow the angle of the ignition cylinder closely enough that the effective torque on the ignition cylinder by the key will be negligible. This is not at all the same as having a heavy keychain, nor is it as heavy as said heavy keychain.

Humorous but I think this will end up biting you in the ass as it is bit of a cop magnet. Imagine getting pulled up and having to explain the screwdriver sticking out of your ignition.

As a qualified key cutter and such I can tell you it will not damage the barrel depending on the size of the driver and would be funny as fukk explaining to the popo when you are pulled for it. I would go for it.
I am not interested in anything you have to say
Don't bother talking to me, I will not answer you

Am I the only one who has visions of someone being impaled on that in a crash?
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Well the 3mm vacuum holes in the slides are the go  :thumb:

Fantastic difference today... shorter slide springs + bigger vacuum holes = nice snappier throttle response.

Originally, I thought that might be a cool way to hide a key in your bike's tool kit under the seat...but after further thought, I realized that wouldn't work out well if you actually lost your primary key.
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:
I am/am not trying to start an argument. This post is/is not intended to be a personal attack. I am/am not merely attempting to present a different viewpoint.

Select the words that apply to you.

Just gotta learn how to remove the seat without using a key. It's not very hard.

Sweet thats what I wish I could do.. suit and tie doesnt go well on a bike. Plus if I have to make a run to a client it may not go over well! Appearance is a large portion in the commercial insurance industry.

new rear tyre fitted today ..... hopefully i've got the rear wheel back on correctly  ;) whilst at the shop waiting for my wheel back, I questioned the service bloke about a replacement controller for my oxford heated grips, they didn't have one so he rang their supplier who said they'd replace them under warranty, even though I have no idea how old the grips are...... so shot home took the old grips off and took them back to the shop, walked out with a brand new set, which i've just finished installing on my bike...... stoked ..... score  :)
