Hey i'm going to swap an 09 engine into my 07 frame, would I have any issues with this, I hear it's a direct swap?

Direct swap.
Indeed. if doing it yourself, can use a retired( free) mattress to do this. pretty easy if you dont want to manhandle the engine much.

thanks for the replies. How long would a swap generally take if I go about it slowly, can it be done in an afternoon?

I would give yourself a full day with no distractions. Yes, could be done in an afternoon if you know what you are doing.

Any smart tips on maintenance and prep before putting in the new engine? Once I take out the old one I mean. Anything to make it look better, aesthetically?

Wrap your frame with old innertubes and zip-tie them in place. That way you don't scratch the bargain-basement-lowest-bidder-watercolor-"paint" on the frame when you are figuring out which way the darn thing goes in.  :technical:

This old post and others in the same thread mention how I swapped motors and included pictures. Did out all by myself. Once I figured it out, it is under a half hour to remove or install a motor with no help at all.

I did a full tear down and rebuild on my bike and it was not too difficult. The only part that really sucked was trying to finagle to motor back into the frame. There is a trick to it.

I found that placing the motor on a floor jack (car type), made putting it in very simple. Slide it around with bike on the center stand, and just pump it into position. Engine balances nicely and once one mounting bolt is in, you're golden.

Thanks for all the tips! Will use them. Im going to pick up the engine soon and wanted to ask. What should I check for when picking up a used engine. Also what is the max I should pay for an engine that had only 3k on it?
