In Newark. Had lunch with Rui and delivered a bag of parts for his Gs500.
Hope to shop for adidas tomorrow in Manhattan with Rui and hit up B&H Photo. Then we will go visit new member Tim across the border into Brooklyn and help fix his bike.

Movie trivia:
"Why I was just about out of Mame Denise's in the Manhattan directory and was worried I'd have to get out my passport and set sail for Brooklyn."
(Paraphrased from memory). Who said it and what movie?

Leaving for the Marine Corps again in a couple weeks. Sold the bike because I won't be able to ride over the summer anyways and the market is hot. Instant sellers regret. I'm down to no more bikes, but I'm working with Adidas to get another one up and running for the fall.

I put a lot of work in, and it was worth it. But damn I miss it already.

When in doubt, empty the magazine.

Ahhh that was your bike on craigslist. Are you a reservist at ft lewis/yakima?
I am into buying bikes that people have given up on and fixing them up!

RIP Patrick Lajko, I miss you man.

We will build you a new bike. We have the technology (and the parts!) Maybe you'll want one of the extra original "E" fairings I have?

I have 4 frames to build.
1. Husky bike Gen 1 a pristine custom painted show bike
2. Gen 2 for me or to sell to a friend or for James
3, Gen 1 to be a beater bike - nothing pretty but something to take on dirt and trash around
4. 1994 red with pink squiggles (I have all NOS parts for this!) as a pristine bike to ride and sell to probably a gurl.

Gen 1 = 1989-2000
Gen2 = 2001+
Gen-2-F would be fully faired 2004+

I go to UW and I'm in PLC there. I'm off this summer for my second round of OCS in Quantico, VA.

There's your dose of acronyms as well haha

i was always a fan of the Adrian Cronauer spiel in Good Morning Vietnam.. "Excuse me sir. Seeing as how the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT, because if it leaks to the VC, you could end up an MIA, and then we'd all be put on KP."

Spent the evening in Coney Island helping out new member Tim Berg with his 2001. dealt with bent clutch perch and clutch switch. Fuses. Bad battery (ran it by jumping from a car). Bike is now running fine. Just needs the right battery. Oil was over filled and learned to not check oil on side stand. All in all - a fun, enjoyable evening. Made trip to auto store for necessary metric tools.

Quite rewarding to help out a new GS-twinner.

MODERATORS: Please get rid of the security on his account. He uses his phone most and answering 5 questions is a pain. I was there. (Sorry, no pictures) He is a REAL member that wants to participate more - except the 5 questions each time is a drag.

Took the wheels off, dropped them off at a local shop to get the new tires mounted.

I repainted the tank after a terrible incident that left it intermittently stripped. Now I am just stuck with an internal debate on how I want to do my tank decals.

Picked up the wheels, put the front wheel back on, and accidentally "removed" the windscreen. Guess it's going to be windy riding for a little while.

peterscotts

Took the last of the stickers off and also the shitty reflectors it came with and ordered some bar end mirrors  :woohoo:

Put a bit over 330km's on her today... and then got wet on the way home... so much for the wash and polish yesterday!

I gotta say with the pre-load one notch firmer on the shocks and the carb work done she is a new bike! First real good ride since doing all that work and it's paid off very well indeed  :thumb:
