I don't think I'll buy oil this time .... I seem to have a 44gal drum of Valvoline All Fleet 15w40 in the shed for the trucks ... Reckon I can spare a couple litres for the bike eh  :thumb:

Twisted

Got some nice Rizoma bar ends off Gumtree for a steal

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Janx, as long as it's good on the clutch then go for it  :thumb:

Nice score Twisted!

I dumped the oil yesterday avo'... this weekend is service, rebuild cam chain tensioner, sort out throttle cable routing, and attempt to repair the horn time.

Painted parts, fender, tank, side panels, rear grab bar reinstalled today. Came out real nice. Waiting on the tail light sub harness and she will be roadworthy again.

Valve clearances checked last night, same as last service  :thumb:

Rebuilt cam chain tensioner... twice... too much loctite on the nut first time around

Penrite Everyday Full Synthetic 10w40 in with a new filter.

Still to sort out throttle cable routing and clean/check under the sprocket cover.

193 miles since purchased. Check out the odometer and the left side tank dent repair. I posted a pic on another thread when the mteal work was done before filler.

Realigned the front wheel.

The original owner had been down once in a low side.  Muffler was scratched, brake lever slightly modified via asphalt grinding, and fork reflector cracked.  The engine cover with Suzuki emblem had been replaced.

Handlebars had a slight bias to the right and the front tire was noticeably misaligned with the fender but all was smooth riding with no wobble or vibration.  I loosened the lower pinch bolts and the fork brace bolts.  A couple of whacks with a rubber mallet and all was straight.  Now its nearly perfect.

Took it up with a group of mates to WSID ... To watch the 'big bikes' storm down the quarter mile! ...

Also a lot of cars running ....

Got to be 'crew' for one of the lads ... Which meant we got to go right down next to the staging/launch area to help out in case a bike failed at the start line.... Which they didn't ...

Meant I got several bathings in tyre smoke and alcohol scented exhaust  :D

My bike ran so smooth and without a hitch for both the 2 hour transits... I gave it a big hug when I got home......  :whisper: (it wasn't because my ass and legs were numb and I tripped while dismounting!  :icon_rolleyes::whisper:

Detailed mine, took hours! Cleaned underneath it, cleaned and lubed my chain, waxed it. Then took it for a blast up around church point which was tons of fun! But yes, rock hard seat doesn't do much good for the ol' posterior does it?  :icon_lol:

Had a serious CBF moment when looking at the throttle cable routing, will do that another time.

Cleaned under the sprocket cover... ugh! Horrendous...

Put it back together, degreased the motor, and a short test ride 'round the long block... so far no oil weeping anywhere and the tensioner seems to be working... good start!

I think my seat is relatively comfy compared to some I have sat on.... It's mainly my lack of regular riding... Combined with my jelly ass ...  Oh and the ride leader thought it would be fun if we took the old nostalgic route up there... Which added on about 30-40 mins and 15-20km of crap roads .... I kept pointing to the glassy smooth motorway!! ... But ooooooooohhhhh no!! ... Nostalgia is better!  :icon_rolleyes:

Pulled Speweys face apart and pulled his legs out in prep to put new seals and springs in.

Commute to and from work and so far all dry, no oil to be seen outside the motor.

Started working on repairing my horn tonight, tried two aftermarket replacements and both have failed  :technical:

3rd oil change since purchase a little over a year ago... had 2500 miles, now at 8350.  She also, got a much deserved bath, with fairings off!
