I use insuremyride.

I'm with InsureMyRide and the price is right, includes $1000 of gear coverage plus $1500 of modifications (my custom pipe alone was nearly $800). Market value for the bike but that's fair enough given it turns 32 this year. Can't remember the price but around $250 a year from memory.

I haven't had to claim with them fortunately so not sure how good/bad that process is.

Excellent, thanks. I haven't got any insurance yet, originally I figured it wasn't necessary as the bike only cost me $2500, but I'm about to spend $$ on a major service, bought $1000 in gear etc, so it's probably worth it. At the very least, I should get 3rd party in case I break someone else's property.

peteGS

Yes, make sure you at least have 3rd party. When I got knocked off late last year the guy had no insurance whatsoever. If I had've done what I should've done and called my insurance company, my handguards and saddlebags would be replaced by now but he would be in a world of financial pain because there would've been labour costs on top and the guy is an apprentice with very little free $$$... which is why everything's *still* not finalised yet...

With my previous bike I used AAMI and their coverage was great especially for a 30+ year old bike. The customer service was good and I think I paid about 350 per year for third party being under 21 at the time.

So far this time InsureMyRide's been good, but I've hit one snag where Brisbane Motorcycles have sent a total loss claim in because they're too damn lazy to go looking for parts. Another quote today for actual repairs and has come in a lot less than total loss, so hopefully they'll take the logical option there, but apparently it's tricky because the first quote's already submitted.  :dunno_black:

Oh, I'm well under $300 for comprehensive cover... but my bike is 32 years old... and I'm a touch older than that...

Even if the first quote is submitted aren't they required to go through at least 2-3 quote services/mechanics? or am I thinking this only for cars?

slothman

Ive only got 3rd party , fire and theft with AAMI at $185 a year. regardless of 20 years of car driving and never one single accident or claim, Im a learner bike rider and comprehnsive would be about $800 a year with a value of $5200!!!  I couldnt believe it.  My $25,000 + dollar modified V8 is cheaper!

All sorted, went up to Quality Bike Repairs at Lawnton, new quote less than $1300, repair approved and parts now ordered  :thumb:

They don't *have* to go through multiple quotes, but they're definitely happy to look at additional quotes if there's one that's way out there like this situation... win win for me  :D

Hi , im in QLD with insuremyride, full comp - $250/year

slipperymongoose

Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

I actually just got the renewal in the mail last week, gotta pay soon I guess ;)
