Good lord. I thought the tank exploded there for a minute, until I saw it was the seat. That sucks quite the big one. I'd be a bit peeved.

ive had to repair fire damage before in bikes. doable but not fun.

Insurance company is a bit slow (imagine that) but I'm interested to see if they will let him buy it back and if so, how much

Most will. cuts down what they would pay out. ( example, say htey would write it for idk $5000, but allow him to buy back for idk 2k?  just pulling these numbers out of my head lol, if he went that route, theyd only have to cut a check 3k versus 5k. but title will be branded. here in TN, on a branded title, all i have to do is go to dmv and get a safety check.  title will never be clean though. unless he finds a titled frame. id be concerned though the aluminum on the engine or teh gasketry, whether it took any damage. ( easy to do)
