hey so this isnt related to the gs 500 but you all were so much help with my gs500 build I thought you all might be able to help me here. I have a 3000Gt with 218k miles but a ton of new parts on it which im asking 3500-4000 for, and Im being offered a 2005 honda cbr 600rr with 20k. Im not sure if this is a good trade or whether Id be able to flip and sell the bike quickly. Any suggestions? Or thoughts?

$$ aside... how good or bad is the 600? .. if its nice and neat and tempts you greatly . and you are not making faces  :icon_confused: about it... then why not?! ..

both people must feel they are getting a benefit...

so long as the bike is legit ... and runs/rides smooth... and you love it... i'd say yeah!

... the $$ may affect the overall position... but EOD its where your passion for vehicles leads you!  :thumb:

That 05 CBR Blue Books at about $4500 retail.  If it is in good condition than it may be a good trade.

well ... and dont go off just what i say .. hopefully others will chime in...

but a quick google search of 2005 honda cbr 600rr 20000 mi .. or km .. shows a lot of different values and condition bikes..

whereabout on the planet are you?... different areas have a differing demand and price range for most bikes...

as far as i know .. a well maintained 600rr is a good reliable bike ..

its still kinda how much it excites you i think... the dollar value is important but..

you could for example get offered a $1000 dirtbike that simply stirs your soul with its handling .. and you took it... or a $10000 harley sportster that you hated and knocked it back...

also... i dont know how familiar with bikes overall you are... so any uncertainty in what you are looking at or maybe will be told by the seller... have a buddy that knows bikes around at your place at the time?

also.. if you are in the US .. and wherever else its a big thing... make sure the title is clear ... if in Aussie.. have a REVS check done...

even while the bloke with the bike is there... look it over... decide how good a condition its in... look up similar condition bikes on the web ... you have to be happy with the trade.. just as he does... he might turn up and look at your 3000gt and say "whoa! what a bucket of bolts!" ?? ...  :dunno_black:

its all in the deciding of relative values and what you both are happy with eh!

I'm here in Virginia in the mountains. That's part of why I'm skeptical. We can  get random nastg snow storms and I'd like a car for that. But then again my car is useless in the snow. I asked if he had a title and he does, because my GS 500 didn't have a title and now I'm suffering for it. The DMV ran it through every data bade imagine able and my bike doesn't exist. At all.

And I've got quite a few friends who will help me check it out but I'm fairly new to the bike community. Speed and looks isn't my biggest thing. Hell you can't even use speed half the time haha. I just enjoy the ride. I know it isn't riding season and that's why I feel like he'd coming on cheap. I know people raise bike prices right before the weather gets good and I'm hoping I can do the same.

well now... thats a point! .. if you are gaining a bike cheaper than it would normally be... and held it for resale when it is riding season... that is a plus! ..

the transport in the snow issue you need to resolve though eh! .. maybe a old pickup or something? .. like this

Im hopefully gunna sell it or trade it for a jeep wrangler when its all said and done
