Yeeeees.... Pretty much like that guys!  ... Most of it I could do myself.... But the roof parts and a few of the smaller but long/flimsy filler pieces (pitched roof angles) I needed a mate to come over and help with .... He was a great help..... But I still work quicker on my own! Lol

Haven't done any plastering myself yet but when I get the shed concrete laid one of these years and I get started I imagine I'll be doing something like it then... gotta seal it up nicely so I can blast and paint in there!

Lol I wish bike garage like that !! ... I'll do a pic or two today.. Just a backyard cabin for the eldest offspring .... The old caravan was ....... 'Old and smelly and it leaks and I hate it and boohoohoohooo!' ... So to help her mental state... And her mothers! (In case the eldest wanted to move out) ... We have a cabin!!  :icon_rolleyes: ;) ...

But it will let me have more room in the garage from 'extra' furniture being in the cabin...

Clear floor, clean benches, storage shelf not have stuff leaning on it.... It's a win!

peteGS

Win indeed Janx, good deal!

Dang it!! .. Forgot pictures today ... No prob .. Plenty of 'in progress' pic opportunities left....

I say forgot .. But it went more like this ...

The cabin will have lights and power points in it.... The garage that sits closest to the cabin ... Has 'wiring'  :icon_eek: ... 1x 6mm cable runs in, powers 3 fluro lights of dubious heritage and (counting) 11x plug points of various provenance and style..... All jerry rigged off various points along the 6mm-1/4" cable (twin and earth) ...... Wires hang out and look crusty... It's "not ideal" .. And will be required as the next project.

So ... Last week ... My mate the electrician (well he has a electrical engineering degree!) ... looks in the garage and says ... NO!!! ... We ain't adding in ANYTHING to that friggin nightmare!! ... Off to the store I go with his list .... Conduit, new enclosure and switch/fuse things, power points, light switches, wall brackets, LED gimbal down lights, 40metres of CAT6 data cable (the youngster got a smart TV for her 21st birthday) and 100m drum of 10mm-3/8" power cable $6/metre!!! (But I can take the unused back for cash back!  :woohoo: ) ... He gave me enough power and lighting cable to run the internals from his 'spare parts' shelf (what a guy!) ....

Before doing any plasterboard last few days I rigged out the cabin with all the required brackets and cable plus some extra ones that will remain hidden until a future need arises....

And today ... Before I could enclose the last wall section in with plasterboard ... I had to run the 10mm cable..... From the power box, under the house (with a low crawl space) then once out from under... enclosed in conduit, along the side of house, under the roof of carport, through the roof of garage and into the cabin.... About 48 metres - of continuos goddam friggin stiff 10mm blasted bloody cable!!!!!!!!!! One piece ... No joins and no cuts! .. Under the house turned out to be the easy bit .. Crawl and push drum then tack a holder strip up and fold it over the cable... Outside/along the house was .... 6 bends/corners and 30 metres of conduit to feed it through ....  >:( .... I am NOT a fan of running cable now!! ... It sucks diseased Vietnam ghetto hairy dogs testicles!!!  :nono: >:( :2guns:

But it is done!! ... And on the weekend the mate is coming over to do the hookup to the power box and install all the actual switches/lights  ... So after work each of the next few days I will be back on the plasterboard and jointing and sanding and undercoating ... Which will be relative bliss!!!

Warning ... When you intend to do this kinda thing ... And you think ... Couple hours easy!! ... No! ... Unless you are a gung-Ho qualified sparky tradesman ... It will take a LOOOOOONG time ... I'm happy to have saved about $300 in getting a tradesman to run the cable.... But next time... If there is a next time.... I might just save a little more cash and pay.... And laugh and laugh and laugh!!!   :thumb:

Damn nice post Janx ! Even W/O the pics.

and yes, agreed. A lot you can do yourself but there comes a time to pay a pro to simply get it done.

You get a new GoPro, or is it your old one?

New one, the old one was a dodgy $75 eBay special that bought the farm. My awesome wife got me a GoPro for my birthday last week :)

Very busy time of year.
Too much "non-motorcycle" crap going on.

Q: What's the difference between a G-Spot and a bottle of Jack Daniels?
A: A guy will actually SEARCH for a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Q: What happens when you cross a gynecologist drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer and sexy blonde drinking Smirnoff Vodka?
A: a "Pabst Smir!"

Alcohol is never the answer... But it does make you forget the question.

If you can't drink and drive, why do you need a driver's license to buy alcohol.

Your move  :icon_mrgreen:
