so its part of a drum Eh?, ive seen something similar watcher not like. I know I phrased or wrote it wrong

. could it be a part of either a drum err skin clamp? ( holding the head/ err the part the stick hits on?, or maybe part of a foot pedal?

terminology lacking .. so ...

bass/kick drum .. inside it ... a bit that has threaded rods sticking out to each side ... several of these on a central post.... to help tune/control resonance inside the drum and provide a nice clean thump sound, not a fuzzy rattle whump sound?

.... a different design variation of this thing?

Close enough. It's a lug.

Lugs are attached to shell, skin (head) sits on shell, rim sits on head, rim has flanges for a bunch of tension rods (screws), rods screw into lugs.

Essentially this but mine is 2 sided for both the top and bottom head.
