Hahahahah nice EJ! Glad I can provide some entertainment  :thumb:

Idled at 2000 RPM yesterday or higher, and running lean...

Lifted the needles a notch and stuck the 150 mains in last night, and proceeded to break two of the posts that hold the needle in place on the left slide  :technical: Still holds in enough but now I need a new slide...

Went to visit a legendary mate who magically shortened the idle screw so it no longer hits the camchain tensioner:

Haha glad you liked it EJ!!!

Should have my new slide on Monday  :thumb:

Heading out shortly for a morning ride, hoping to get a wide open plug chop so I can see where the main jets are at...

Wide open plug chops have her lean, and I marked the throttle positions to determine she's lean at quarter throttle which is where my flat spot is...

However...

Need to try to get time for another run after fixing that this morning to see if wide open was lean or a bad plug lead... sheesh!!!

Ha, ha!
Now we're talking!
This is "scientist" stuff!

Nice foam grips too.

Yup! Indeed!!! Love my foam grips, less vibes and bigger grip  :thumb:

Spark plug lead didn't make a difference so it's time to order more jets today.

I did however replace my tail light yesterday for a much lighter/smaller unit... now my indicators look way too big and I need to do something about the bent left one...

Nice tail! ... just a observation following here Pete. . From something I saw just last week...

A random old mate was riding south thru Sydney about 20m in front of me... had those ultra small super bright led blinkers on the back.... well I realised what they were when alongside him a bit later anyway!

But for a few kms he was changing lanes thru traffic. . As we do. .. and maybe 70 percent of the time

Janx101

..  bloody touchscreen!

70% of time the small bright led flash just disappeared into the daylight! .. I knew he was using them (very careful rider actually!) .. and I knew where to look... but the position and angle of the things meant the flash just washed out!

Small may be cool... but not too small! They get lost! ...

I have little doubt that at night they are plenty visible! ... but how many bike/ car accidents are day time.? .. and I'm starting to wonder if a small part of the smidsy thing is tiny led blinkers!?

Malfruen

Agreed Janx, I got a set of little LED blinkers to replace my original blinkers which fell apart after being held together with Tarzan's Grip for 12 months. I didn't realise how friggin' small they were until I recieved them.

On my travels since, I've been told several times by the rest of the mob that they are extremely difficult to see in the day, and not bright or noticeable at night. Not as unnoticeable as a friends Ducati Diavel, mind you, which has a brake light on each side, and that same light glows amber when the blinker is on the corresponding side. When he's braking, you can't f%$king see the blinker AT ALL.

They're the first thing I'm replacing when I start refurbing the bike next month.

peteGS

Yeah definitely not keen on those tiny LED jobbies!!! I've never been a fan of them, which is why so far I've stuck to the big stock ones  :thumb:

I got pointed in the direction of TL1000 indicators which are a little smaller but still similar shape and nice and bright... if I feel like spending $$$ at some point I'll consider a set of those instead... for now I'll take it the way it is...

So that would mean that I'm not the only one here that is "motorcycle poor"?  :whisper:
On some of the other boards I visit, It seems like I'm the only guy without a garage full of new bikes.

My old (2003) Jeep TJ is also a long distance runner.
My Son tells me I was luck to get one of the good ones that didn't rust out in a few years. Thank god for that!  :thumb:

I see your jeep and raise you a 2001 ford ranger (I think that USA designation) dual cab 4wd pickup with 451k km on it .. that's 280k miles! ! :thumb: ... and soon I will have only the picture of a motorcycle (with tear stains) hanging on the garage wall. .. lol?!

Janx101

And EJ ..All those other board chaps with garage full of new (unloved really, just greed grabbed) bikes. .. they likely all drug dealers and pimps and cross dressing shores. .. so there!

Your going over to the Dark Side? ? NO BIKE ? ! ?  >:(

Heh... Dont tell anybody here but I too have been bike-less back in my younger days.
The job, finances, wife, two little kids at home to raise, etc...

So um, whats your story?  :dunno_black:

Janx101

I owe money! .. it's sitting in my garage doing little. .. it sad to sell but also clears path for another toy later on!
I'd rather the bike be enjoyed by a new fresh L plater. . Who I will steer here also...

I NEED to clear some medium size debts so I can start attacking large debts in meaningful amounts! .. not sell bike = another 18month's of juggling payments and hoping for random overtime!

... if I get the ride itch I have 2 or 3 mates who will lend me either their bike or their spare bike... but the amount of mental energy I have last few months I haven't even taken the offers up!
