I am trying to do some photoshop's of the bike with the different color contrast ideas. I will be sure to include a pic with your idea when they are done. Thanks for your suggestion NYNJ8. Keep the comments coming guys I'm really excited to hear what you guys have to say.

I have a new video for everyone. Your suggestions have been more than helpful. Come on by and check out the channel and if you enjoy what you see, share, like, comment, or subscribe.

Well I finished changing up the rear end geometry and took the angle iron rear supports out and welded in some 3/4x3/4 square stock. I thought I was recording the whole time but it turns out my battery was dead from filming my daughters 9 month check up, so sorry no video this week. I did take some pictures. And here they are.

THE OTHER SIDE

FROM THE TOP

Still have to grind some welds on the next visit then its on to the dents in the tank.

Now it looks like it should, great job!

Well. Not yet. Not until all those nasty old welds and the new welds are ground down smooth. Then it will look like it should. O0

Ok guys. I know I haven't updated this in a long time. I actually did finish this bike and took a lot of your suggestions and made them real. Thanks for helping me pick the color scheme of the bike. I have gotten very good responses to this bike. People seem to love the color. She runs amazing still and is definatly a head turner now. this is a lot of pictures so im sorry for that.

This was the final reassembly of the bike and were its sits right now. Please let me know what you think and if you guys have any more suggestions. I have about 100 hours in paint and body. The colors of the bike are Volkswagon Electronic metalic green and Audi Titianium Metalic Gunmetal. I two toned the adjustable mono shock and painted the front forks the same color as the frame as per NYNJB's suggestion.

2nd set of pics.

also there are a few pics of the front fender and a new fly screen. These are all painted to match the bike but are not on the bike yet. I need a smaller gauge cluster to mount the fly screen close enough to the forks so it doesn't jut out like a sv650 front fairing. I'm thinking of a koso digital gauge cluster for the bike. As for the front fender it looks great with the flyscreen and not so much with out it, to me anyhow. So I will be waiting to mount that untill the gauges are figured out. Right now I'm working on making a duel exhaust out of my two vance & hines full exhausts and a custom set of rear sets to get my legs in a better position for extended riding.

Glad to see you're back!!

I really enjoyed all the pictures. That green color is very nice... not too bright and not something you see all the time. The paint on the tank looks so shiny and clean... I'd be constantly treating it like fragile glass  :kiss3:

The dual exhaust idea sounds awesome and I hope you keep going with that!!! I've seen it done at least a couple times before so I know it's certainly possible.

I'd like to see ya pick up one of those thick aluminum fork braces from Chuck81 and put that on maybe? I think they look great.... Also, I'm not sold on that scooter headlight (I think you mentioned scooter in an earlier post because of the space it had inside for that huge wire nest in the front?)... from some angles I like it and others I'm not so sure. You did mention about the fly screen and also adding the front fender back on so I'm really looking forward to seeing that!! Digital gauge sounds super cool, I have certainly enjoyed watching project threads in the past when people do different things with the gauges.

Can't wait to see more. Great work so far! Oh yeah before I forget, do you have any plans for a chain guard? I know there are mixed feelings about them out there but I'd hate to see dirt and chain lube and whatnot get flung all over your nice paint.  :nono:

Awesome update !!!

Thanks ShowBiz for the kind words. Im not sure what fork brace your talking about but point me in the direction and ill see what i can do. As far as the headlight is concerned i am definatly ready to move on from the scooter headlight. Not because i dont like it, because it is dangerously dim. If i could find a bulb system to work with its very proprietary configuration i would keep it. I turned the headlamp mounting brackets upside down and switched them from left to right. It gave me a much more pleasing placement of that massive thing. So much so it has even made believers out of the haters. I really love that headlight I just cant handle its marginal performance.

Here is a recent post from chuck about his fork braces and covers:

I can't see the pictures in that thread, they show up as little squares with a broken image in them so if you have trouble as well, here is his original thread about them:

Maybe someone on here will read this and have some helpful ideas/advice on creating a better bulb system so you can keep that headlight...!!!
