Today when trying to start the bike it would not work, i was pressing the ignition button over and over for about five minutes trying everything i could and eventually started. The power is working fine as you can tell by the lights dimming when you press the button but other then that nothing was happening, the engine wasn't turning over or anything.
I tried again latter and the same thing happened, the button seems to only work at random intervals, i looked for videos on youtube but could find nothing of this discription, in most videos the bike usually gives off some sort of noise but the only thing that happens when i press the button is the lights dimming.

Would it be a wiring issue?

Check the wires (two small leads I think) that connect to the clutch lever perch on the left handlebar. I think also two on the right for the kill/starter switch. If loose the bike won't start.

Also make sure the side stand isn't down, the clutch is pulled in, and the kill switch is off. There are a lot of "safety" features that can cause this problem if we forget. IF you are doing it all correctly, check all the connections, including the side stand switch.

Battery power? , pinched wire on starter side near the head stem area? .

Done any work to the bike recently?
