... Hang on... It looks kinda like a screw holder thingy ... Saves the fingers from getting a screwdriver tip in them in difficult access situations..... Only ever seen them in plastic/polymer though...

It could be, I could see how it would, but I think the intended result was more aesthetic in nature.

Elmojo, in actuality since its from a bike multitool the chain jig also happens to be designed to be taken off the screw and used as a spoke wrench.
Chain tool is what I was looking for, though.
