I went looking around through my old photos, and found this gem.

My little brothers 1997 BMW F650 Funduro in Orange, my then fiancee's 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, good old Spewy and a friends Suzuki SV650 in the background. We later had another BMW F650 in Black dubbed "Mister Bicycle", a 2011 Hyosung GV250, a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja, two 2011 Yamaha XVS650's, a 2011 Yamaha 250 Virago, and a 2009 Hyosung GT250R show up. Then we all drank a shitload of beers and put shaZam! on the SV rider cause he'd had more accidents than we could count. He sold his bike this year, which is probably the best thing for him.

Good times.

peteGS

Good times indeed! There is a lot to be said about a bunch of bikes sitting together...

Our neighbours had alot to say about it. Too noisy. Only Spewy and the orange BMW had stock pipes at the time.

It's been good doing some travelling and thinking.... 3000km worth! .... but back home with my mattress and my pillow is great! :D

ShowBizWolf

That is a lot of distance!! Omg I would love to be home with my pillow right now I am soooo sleepy I don't do well on early shiftttt

Yep EMS sucks hairy dog goolies!

Janx101

Early Morning Start. .. that is... says ems on my payslip,  a whole 28bucks a week extra!

ShowBizWolf

So you get extra for starting early Janx?  That is pretty cool... I get a bit extra for doing 2nd shift (which I enjoy) but because of how hard it is for me to get up EARLY, I feel like THAT should pay extra LOL

It also pays to be in an industry with unions and lots of guys actually fighting for good pay and conditions  :thumb:

The IT industry sucks for that sort of thing... can you imagine a bunch of nerds and geeks standing outside a parliament building waving placards and chanting stuff? Yeah neither can I... it would be laughable in the extreme...

There is apparently a union for IT workers although I can't remember the name now. I once enquired about membership fees and went  :o Naturally I didn't bother...

Being an IT protest... doubt they'd have mere signs! ..... large screen tablets!, laser writers on building walls, streaming the chants direct to mobile phones. .. lol

Malfruen

IT protests are easy. Everything you maintain, suddenly, just doesn't work anymore. "Must be the firmware boss, I can't fix it until the network comes back up, and that can't happen until the uplink is working from HQ."

mennobike

Dunno boss, I'll need dental before I can fix this.  :dunno_black:
I'll have no idea what piece you're referring to unless you include one of the following: Doobly doo, thing-a-ma-jigger, or dibbledy dop.

Janx101

Ahhh got it.... so IT are modern day jobbing wizards!.... it's all in the electrickery!  ;)

I work as a Manager for a department that consists of (geek) electronic technicians...
The tech's are in the IBEW union, (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).
Unofficially speaking, if they dont (eventually) get a raise, "I" would not likely ever get a raise.

So as you can see, even though I am "management" and NOT a union worker, if the people that work under me don't grow, "I" dont grow.
And if the Union goes out on strike, then I will be working grueling hours with NO pay so I do hope the union I.T. workers get their contract peacefully.

Just sayin'

I wish it were like that! Truth be told I'm paid ok so no complaints now (although more is always better right? :D), but back when I looked into it I worked for a little IT company that paid crap, and that's where I needed the Union I couldn't afford...  :icon_rolleyes:
