The gs could be a sweet little stunter...its my favorite kind of riding and gives me a goal to shoot for....just wanted to see what others have done...

No it makes a piss poor "stunter". Has to work hard to get it up, and stoppies are dangerous with the stock pads and break lines.  Can burn out fairly easily, but thats it.

If you want to annoy your neighbors and convince girls you're an idiot, buy a pre trashed 600 race replica, strip off the remains of the plastic, and go to town.

No offense etc...

with the gs being as light as it is....you can throw it around..pick  it up.  You can gear it to do anything you want it to... The gs is cheap $1200 or less....it comes without plastic so you dont waste time or money with that one.  maintenance is cheap, they're easy to work on.  The tires are small and a little cheaper.... I already own a gs500, so i couldnt think of anything better to learn on.  Besides....ill keep my gs so when i upgrade ill still have my "stunter" to play on.  The only down side i can think of for you is that the air cooled engine isnt as efficient at slow speeds as a water cooled 600 replica bike....

you can probably gear the GS to do power wheelies and get a top speed of about 14 mph.

JakeD-getting your nipple pierced is not crazy. Killing a drifter to get an errection? Now that's crazy!

I heard of a guy in the Netherlands that he used to do long wheelies with the bike. After 2 weeks the bearings of the engine failed. Apparently the oilpump can't suck up the oil when wheelying.

And also because of the low power and low torque it is a poor stunter. I wouldn't do it, unless you  want to trash it or something.

That wheely and oil cavitation was common on the first gen 900RR's... the funny thing is... those were the bikes that were made to wheelie... super light, super short and super powerful...
Cool.

if you put some bigger gears on it, it would be fun to wheelies, but i can't get anything out of the front brakes, i've seen one picture of a guy doing a stoppie on the bike, i don't know how he did it, but i'd say it'd be just as easy to find a 600-900 already beat up for $2000, not that i'm opposed to your gs idea, i  just think you'd do better with a bigger one
