And cheers Yama but no need, the Katana boys here are looking out for me so all under control I hope  :thumb:

It seems the Kat's bottom end has had a hard life... crank is out of spec on the runout too so not sure where to go from here, I'm awaiting advice from those in the know...

Concerning our vehicles...

Powerful - Reliable - Inexpensive. Pick any two at a time, the third is not included.  :nono:

Hahaha the wee beastie is pretty reliable, reasonably inexpensive...

The Kat will be reliable, will be powerful...

I'm seeing a theme here for sure  :D :icon_lol:

Speaking of the Kat, trying some plastic welding... from this:

To this:

The acetone in the ABS slurry should have all evaporated by tonight so I should be able to tell how strong it is or isn't. Fingers crossed it's all good and I can sand the chunky bits back and have a proper tail piece to mount up.

They call him Al Quaeda Pete!! ;)

I'll betcha' The Buddha could find use for some of that floor-scrap.
Clean it up and sell it to the South African gang members he was dealing with over the summer. Them seemed like a nice group of fellows.

I distinctly remember their Customer Service Department.  :thumb:

. . . And in his pockets, in car, in kitchen, etc, etc...  :icon_mrgreen: peteGS is a mechanic!

I was baking a rear differential gear in our oven recently when the Mrs. walked in and freaked out.
My Son also got busted by the Mrs., He was storing 6 gallons of nitro methane under his bed.  :icon_rolleyes: (Note the stuff must be stored in darkness or risk potency loss)

Also. .  Today is mentally tough. .. been on champix tablets for several weeks (stop smoking aid) .. budget and associated requirements mean that I don't have cash to buy cigs. .  Last one was Saturday arvo.  24 hours ago.... still on tablets so the nicotine craving isn't there (been fading for few weeks) ... the damn hand/fidget/do something habit is giving me the shits tho! .... gaaaaaaaa!

Electrojake

Took me 5 years of "try & fail" to get off all nicotine.  :icon_neutral:
Been off that crap for 14 years with absolutely NO urge to go back.

Good luck with your "cold-turkey" attempt at quitting smoking.

Get a copy of this book somewhere:

http://allencarr.com.au/

My wife went to a seminar a few years ago and after having been smoking since her early teens has not touched one since. No patches/pills/etc. and probably only about 48 hours of struggle coming to grips with it afterwards. You don't have to go to a seminar either, it's not a money making scheme as far as I can see, especially given the results... oh it's not hypnosis or anything like that either.

I stopped about 4 and a half years ago I think and used patches, haven't touched one since either, but man I wish I knew about that book and seminar then!

The trick is understanding that 95% of the withdrawal is mental and not chemical and that it's your mind that's craving them, not your body... and that all the things you *think* cigarettes were doing for you actually wasn't the case at all and they did nothing but cause you grief...

Also, you're not "quitting" because that implies you're giving up on something good, you're "stopping" doing something that's bad for you...

Thanks lads. . Have used this medication to quit for nearly a year once before... I know it works ok....

The first week is the worst for the fidgets. .

EJ .. not cold turkey... the tablets have been neutralizing most of the nicotine response in my brain for weeks/months. .. it used to be a anti-depressant when created... but studies showed that users also often gave up smoking "because it's not doing anything for me" .. or something like that? ...

So next couple weeks I'm a 20/day TicTac/Mentos man!

Electrojake

Once you quit, The true test is to drink a few beers, then do a nice fat line of "crank" (crystal meth), and head to the local pub and sit between two mates that are heavy smokers.

If you last thru that, then you've officially "kicked the habit".  :thumb:
