Show me your aftermarket lights.  I'm looking to change mine out.  Probably go led for the turn and brake lights.  I'm looking for ease of wiring, something with a harness that matches up would be great.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/361409724444

This says gs500 but the seller can't tell me if it would work.

Link is to a TCP front fairing. Nothing to do with headlights, brake lights or turn signals or the wiring for them.    :dunno_black:

People have used TCP fairings in the past. Do a forum search and you should find several threads that describe them and/or any customization involved.

Yes, correct...which the lights mount to or in.  So I am looking into it as an option for mounting the lights and turn signals.

Right then. What did your forum search turn up?

Various topics most of which were not what I was looking for.

Well, first things first, that doesn't just bolt on a stock headlight. You will need to figure out your dual headlight & mount it. Then you can determine if that will fit. Tbh, I think the TCP fairing I had in mind was one that actually fit around the OEM single headlamp for the E. If you don't feel like crafting or splicing on your own, might want to keep what ya got. Just saying.

I have the stock round headlight on my '98 E... but I like how it looks behind the '04 gixxer nose fairing and windshield I added when I first got my bike.

I also swapped out the stock turn signals for gixxer ones I got on ebay. I liked that they were shorter and the shape was sportier.

I *did* try some cheapo ebay ones once and they lasted about two seconds lol so no more of that for me.

I mounted the front set of signals on the nose fairing where they were designed to go and wired them with quick-disconnects... so I can just unplug them when removing the fairing to change dash bulbs or whatever.

The rear set of signals I mounted directly to the side plastics on either side of the tail light... figured they were higher and made for better visibility. I also tried to angle them with the angle of the tail of the bike. I wired in quick disconnects for these too so if the side plastics have to be taken off, the signals can be unplugged... I don't want the plastics to just be dangling from the back LOL  :icon_eek:

The taillight I have is the newer style GS taillight... I wasn't a fan of the earlier style that looks like a brick. Got that on ebay too  8)
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

I may just have to look into a stock light off an older model.  Showbizwolf, any photos?

The hyper flash from led lights doesn't really bother me since I can easily see if I have a light out.  I'll see if I can link a fender delete kit I am looking into later tonight.  The full fairing looks good to me but they are a bit banged up from the previous owner.

Sure I have a few...!!

This is an older pic, I made a different front fender since then... but the main thing is you can see the signals and that's what you wanted to see anyway:

Old picture again from last summer but a good shot of the taillight and signals (and cooincidentally how much of the fender I removed):

Thank you!!

I figured there shouldn't be a shortage on ebay of gixxer signals... I don't plan to crash but who does?  :icon_razz:

I imagine it should be easier to find replacement signals like this if I ever need one than trying to find one (or more) of a random aftermarket design I'd have picked out idk how long ago. I hope that makes sense, I had trouble figuring out how to word that  :embarrassed:

I did a projector on my bike. I like the unique look and it has better light output and focusing on the road!
