Had to re-weld my fasteners but they're all good now and have 2 coats of cold gal to stop them corroding under the foam and fibreglass...

And at last the mould cured minus the tack!!!

Should just need a light rub back then wax ready to make the first pan  :thumb:

It's pretty much ready!!!!

Day off work yesterday to get the pest control done (I'm still here!)  :icon_lol:

Finished rubbing it back and added/buffed four liberal layers of release wax to the mould. I'll probably do one more given it's a fresh mould, then it's time to cut the matting to suit the shapes and get it laid down. Can't wait!

Extremely slow progress this week, should be taking the first pan off the mould this weekend but I'll be lucky if I've started laying the matting down...

Winning!!!!! In more ways than one... should be able to see if the first seat pan is a success or not today...

Wow I'm still winning!!! Should we rename this Pete's Kat build or what??  :icon_razz: :flipoff:

Got some repairs/patching to do and then trimming/clean up but for better or worse the pan is off the mould...

I was working on my bike this whole weekend... and also mowing the lawn and cleaning the house AND watching my dad get to drive a Nascar car at a local speedway (Christmas present from my brother)  :D

BUT of course I keep checking on the threads during the week and I love your progress, as always! NICE work pete that pan looks great!!!
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

peteGS

Haha ShowBiz been a busy gal!!!  :icon_lol:

Painted ceilings on the weekend myself but they turned out ok so I'm glad they got done!  :thumb:

Looks like this pan will work out... still sitting too high at the front and it's holding the tank up and pushing the pan backwards, but the tongue is bolted on and it sits nicely in the seat plate at least. So, need to reattach the seat latch area, repair the tear in the right side, add some reinforcing underneath, then finish up the trimming.

Noice :D. oh in a moment of lunacy  lol i was considering "furring" the knee scooter. hmm figuring costs and all. shouldnt be much. ( less than a yard of material. and 1 can of spray adhesive) lol :D

Ugh ok this has been bugging me... your bike/project/posts don't belong in the Tard Farm...!!! I know it just kinda... ended up that way in this thread but your bike needs a proper thread for all this lovely customness

Thanks ShowBiz!!!

Yeah I did think about that... but... well... it ain't exactly a twin... it's a pair of twins I guess... so I'm not really sure where that should fit in...

But in the meantime I did get the seat latch area reattached and the repair done... then it's time for another test fit, final reinforcing, and trim to size ready for upholstery  :D

I need to reattach that seat latch again... attached it too far to the right so the seat sits a bit to the left... dammit!

going to hobby lobby tomorrow after ear surgeon appt. ( iff tubes still there he schedules day surgery anytime after 20th.) anyhoo would have went today cept owners/founders of store are mormon and theyre closed on sabbath. anyhoo i digress, if anyone has UT orange fur, they will. if not, a place called joann does. course theres always online places but i want to examine before purchase.
top frame tune and wheelmount will be orange, bottom tube, seatpost and front arm will be white. then for addy, orange replaced by purple. ( attaching with velcro to allow for quick changes or removal as needed.) almost looking forward to it. it SHOULD match with my UT skunk hat. ( orange fur with fat white stripe)

Not much at local area stores. and dads nowhere near tech savvy. so onlines out. going to see if i can find an odd job  i can handle to get the material/supplies. going to probably use long pile fabric/fur so it matches my skunk hat lol.
