Ahhh crumbs!!! That should be easily fixed tho, am I right? Cut off the extra and then seal up the edge with some resin?

Hopefully so... do a bit of a cut and shut in the middle of the pillion area... that way I don't have to stuff around with the seat latch again.

Oh yeah! Love the  O0 by the way  :thumb: :D

Checked it last night and it fits  :woohoo:

Will get some pic's once I've had time to start finishing it up ready for the upholsterer, hopefully today/tomorrow.

Good stuff Jim... haven't touched the seat...

Ended up spending every minute I had spare on the weekend fixing the kitchen sink plumbing instead  :technical:

Couldn't be bothered getting out to the shed last night so we'll see how I go tonight... I do have to replace the handgrips on the 450 before the weekend though...

im not a ut fan but it seems 90% of this area is. so using auto velcro the fur can be applied/removed at will.
now could you shorten the seatpan somehow, or do you have to start over?

Velcro sounds like a sensible idea!  :thumb:

The seat pan is shortened, and it does seem to fit well now, but I still haven't touched it since then... I did however get the new handgrips on the 450 last night although that didn't go smoothly either. What the hell is going on lately? Nothing is going as it should...

I have motorcross handguards on, so I loosened the left one to take it off, but the little end bit that the long screw threads into to tighten it up inside the bar came off the end of the screw and slide right down into the bar... bit of long wire poked in from the right side pushed it out but geeeez... can something not go smoothly for once?

And I discovered yesterday if some hardware arrives at work tomorrow I'll probably be spending a fun Friday evening getting it installed and some services cut over to it urgently so my Saturday morning ride is now in jeopardy... ugh...  :technical:

That sign is absolutely spot on  :thumb:

I like the other one with the pelican eating the frog but the frog is strangling the pelican and it says Never Give Up... hahahaa

Good man!  :thumb:

I got stuff done... between working... 18 hours on Friday, several more hours on Saturday morning then on and off for the rest of Saturday and Sunday. Then a normal day yesterday plus some more at 10:30pm last night... will be back at it normal hours today...

Hopefully I got the rear of the seat pan sorted and the underside of the seat latch area reinforced properly.

Tonight should hopefully be the finishing touches so I'll call the upholsterer today and organise a time to get the seat pan to him  :thumb:

Also received a quite rusted seat pan for the 450 yesterday that I'll need to neaten up and repair and also make into a single seater so I can get that done before the rego is due in December. Gonna be a tight squeeze to get it done in time!

Haha cheers Showbiz!!! Pretty happy with how it's turned out... not perfect but certainly workable and the imperfections should hopefully be hidden once upholstered.

I need to take a detour now and get my 450 onto single seat rego before it's due in December, gonna be a fair bit of work. Here's the only seat pan I could find on eBay... ugh...

I should be able to bend some steel plate to suit the left side and front, the centre bit isn't pretty but it's pretty much just on the surface so will clean up ok.

The real fun bit is due to the front bit being gone, that also includes the tongue to hook onto the frame, so I need to make a new one... all fun stuff!

Now THAT'S something I'm used to seeing...!! Unfortunately lol... but yes you can certainly do something with that skeleton, no doubt.

How much did u pay for that beauty?

$60 in the end... but $40 was postage... given the condition probably too much now but most of the left side damage was hidden by the seat trim, I at least knew the front bit was buggered and the tongue was missing.

Should be getting a sheet of 1mm steel today which I'll use to repair it and I'm thinking I can build a storage compartment in the rear under what used to be the pillion area... if my lack of welding skills let me that is!

Does this mean I win???  :woohoo:

Seems Photobucket is having some issues... but the Kat seat is at the upholsterer and I've started the rust repairs on the 450 seat  :thumb:
