I didn't choose either one tbh.
Superbike bars, '04 GSXR headlight & cowl, DRZ signals, 1/2" fork brace, 'Busa fender, stainless exhaust & brake lines, belly pan, LED dash & brake bulbs, 140/80 rear hoop, F tail lens, SV650 shock, Bandit400 hugger, aluminum heel guards & pegs, fork preload adjusters, .75 SonicSprings, heated grips

yamahonkawazuki

tbh i wasnt thrilled 'bout the choices. damned close on race though.

Except for the music, yep to all of that..

Still haven't gotten this damn 450 seat done. If I was a better welder I would be done by now, but I keep blowing holes in it which I then have to patch up and of course there is a lot of follow up grinding to be done...

Haven't heard back from the upholsterer on the Kat seat though so I still have this weekend to get it done by the looks.

Finally! Try not to look too closely as my welding sucks, but got it done and primed yesterday. Need to give it a couple of coats of black today and it'll be ready for the upholsterer. Managed a decent size storage area under the pillion area now too  :thumb:

Stash? Hmmmm... nah maybe not... hahahahaha

Should give me enough room to move the toolbag and rag under there which frees up the tail piece, may or may not get motivated enough to get one of those little Shorai or similar Lithium Ion batteries and relocate it into the tail piece.

No photos yet but I got the black paint on today and found some rubber trim I can use to line the storage opening so it's neat and tidy  :thumb:

Hahahah cheers Showbiz!!! Gotta clean the house this morning but provided the little kitten doesn't pop her kittens out today I'll try to get the trim on the storage opening and get some finished pic's.

Hahaha no kittens yet, but painted seat yes  :thumb:

The rubber trim I found is too old and brittle so I have to buy some to suit, but other than that done and fits well. The foam is just the chopped down stock foam to see how it is, it'll get new foam when upholstered... not sure when that will be as I haven't heard back on the Kat seat yet.

oooooooh so so nice  :D  What kind of primer and paint did ya choose pete?

Basically left over aerosols from the original 450 build... some self etching primer and acrylic satin black that I used on the dash. Mainly I just need to stop the pan rusting again, it's going to be upholstered front to back so I'll only ever see the bottom when I take the seat off  :thumb:

I love etching primer... that stuff is amazing for sure. The kinds I've used have a cure time of like 72 hours though and it's like ugh ain't nobody got time for that lmao

rustoleum or  rhino-liner (spray on bedliner) would be ideal for the pan. or even clear coat.

oooh yes that's a good idea... I've used loads of spray on bedliner. I like using it on the underneath of my car and my van rather than undercoating.

lasts longer. plus nowadays at least here in the us, you CAN buy it in a spray can as well.

For me it was a matter of whatever I had laying around... once the seat's upholstered I'll only ever see the bottom...

Bedliner would be good but no idea if we have that here without it costing a fortune though.
